    Rear end damage

Actually, that makes more sense than anything I've heard thus far. If that is the case, then FORD should simply replace the bolts.

    Car Wash

Those of us who live in cold climates do not have the option to always wash by hand.

    Rear end damage

    Honestly, I don't have a clue.

    Rear end damage

FOLLOW UP: I just asked Sstockss for a clarification on his reply that he had the 1 bolt. Awaiting his response, I went to his YT vid and searched through the responses where he indicates his build date was 11/19 making it a 2020 model: Which would still fall under the recall date...

Abusing an Explorer ST for science

To Sstockss: In discussing the rear bolt shear, you replied that your rear sub frame was the 1 bolt (example photo below): But boosted_st said the matte finish on your steering wheel/dash indicates a 2020 model which means you may have the 2 bolt rear (example photo below): Please...

    Rear end damage

That observation must be flawed. He specifically stated it was a 1 (3) bolt.

    Rear end damage

What about Sstockss and the abuse he gave his 3 bolt in the "Abusing an Explorer ST for science" thread. Doesn't seem weak there ...

    2022 Ford Explorer Platinum ST

And Esssssss Teeeeeeeee owners thought you Platinum buyers bought the car for fancy interiors and chrome "upgrades." Note to self, Platinum owners got their cars because they thought they were getting the equivalent of Audi's because of some Tri-Diamond perforated leather seats. Got it...

    Rear end damage

And 99.9071% of the time (FORD's data) the part does not fail in stock configuration. Sounds about right to me for any part ever manufactured. And not just for First Responders, but for any other industry can a better % rate be expected. Nothing in this world is 100%, literally nothing...

Poll: How many have experienced a "rear axle bolt fracture" (POLL CLOSED 6-4-22)

Wow, very sorry to hear about the time delay. I hope they gave you a loaner car.

    Rear end damage

What is the "margin" that should be allowed? 100 hp over stock? 250 hp over stock? 450 hp over stock? Things quickly become very arbitrary. If the Stangs are "newer", then we don't know their flaws yet. Having been a Stang guy most my adult life and racing them, I recall their "World Class"...

    2022 Ford Explorer Platinum ST

Of course it does! That's why the rest of us got the Esssssssssss Teeeeeeeeee. Lol I originally thought the dealer ordered roof rack was a waste of $$. But now that I use it to stabilize myself when standing on the foot well to wash the roof, I'd never get a SUV without it. And now you've...

Poll: How many have experienced a "rear axle bolt fracture" (POLL CLOSED 6-4-22)

Downvote me, I can take it! Lol I gotta tell you, its hard for me to believe it happened twice to somebody but not even once to 99.907% (FORD's data) of everybody else. Bad batch of bolts? Hope your car gets repaired ASAP.

Poll: How many have experienced a "rear axle bolt fracture" (POLL CLOSED 6-4-22)

I assume you have the 1 bolt rear, right? Let us know if anything comes of your call. A guy on YT who used the 91 Unleashed Tune said it ups wheel hp to 400. That's a substantial increase over the 330-340 hp a stock ST makes. What year was your ST?

Poll: How many have experienced a "rear axle bolt fracture" (POLL CLOSED 6-4-22)

Thanks for chiming in! Sorry to hear you were the less than 1% of people with a bolt shear. You say it wasn't tuned when it occurred at 10,000 miles, but that it "had" a 91 tune. What brand tune did you have, why did you remove the tune before the bolt gave way, and what year/production date...

Did anyone else get the recall letter?

I get 'ya. But the fuel line rattle is driving me nuts so to the dealer I went! Figures my car was made within the 44 day spread of the TSB. Lol

Did anyone else get the recall letter?

I had the electronic brake recall flash done as soon as I got the letter. No issues. I'm also getting the fuel line rattle issue completed the minute the foam block parts come in. We can't be afraid of going to the dealer for work that needs to be done ...
