just went and washed the car, got back in, put it in Sport mode and now the enhanced engine noise is gone. i personally enjoyed the fake noise, hopefully next time i get in, it comes back.

okay, found it. i dont know what i looked at weeks ago, i went at looked through the engine bay last night and now i see what i need.

i knew, only because i watched every review video on the internet weeks before we bought ours. and yes, they are for exhaust soot. that was a huge complaint from prior generation explorer owners. turbo engines seem to make a lot of soot.

Definitely interested. Want to see what it sounds like. I don’t drive normally when the wife and kid are not in the car. It’s always straight to sport mode.

What unit do you have? The dual or plumb back? In terms of performance, I know it won’t make it more powerful, but will it cause flutter or drop in significant intake volume to cause delay in re-acceleration? I want more sound mainly.

I broke ours in with 26 miles on the odometer, by giving it wide open throttle. for a couple dozen runs over the course of a few weeks. new engines need to be revved out to make sure everything is seated correctly.
