o PIU 3.0L. the hybrid PIU prob has 3 bolt just like the regular hybrid. We already know 3.0L with 3 bolt are problematic because at least 4 Explorer ST members have reported the mount bolt snapping!

I would suggest looking at your tire pressure sensor readings on the dash. Is one of them missing on occasion? I would be nice to know if it's just one tire or the module.

Why not 18" then? That's what I got from Tirerack. If it were me, I'd keep an eye out for Timberline 18" rims. I think those would be sweet for winter use.

Mod you car? Sure you should be responsible. But in THIS case, it's because Ford decided to go with the one bolt on our STs instead of the two bolt. How many two bolts have had this happen to them, modded or not? I haven't heard of a single case.

They've also replaced one member's with the same 3 bolt. That was one of the earlier cases and the member sold the Explorer after they fixed it.

That's unusual. The pipe ends should have been enlarged slightly. Mine went on (overlapped) easily after i de-burred the cuts and sprayed silicone lube. Maybe they neglected to enlarge the ends on some. If that's the case, just cut off more of the stock pipe or the Gibson pipe and use butt...
