Yeah Zfg definitely the top of the list. I just never hear much about Zfg auto octane version. It’s a little dialed back and I think maybe somewhat in line with the FP tune. Not entirely sure though. But it doesn’t require full on premium gas at all times.

I don’t want to derail this thread but this is the document from ford. It reads as ALL explorers, 2020-2022 are affected. Unclear why it ever read like this. But that would mean all explorers would get this updated firmware.

They may not have 3 rows but it’s not like there are two and three row versions of the explorer. Just one. But either way still great for the explorer! Hope it continues.

Good to hear! It’s interesting about the 87 octane part. The FP team swore I should only run premium. Which very well may be true. But I’m guess the tune and computer still has the ability to dial things back. Keep us updated once you run through some premium.

Yeah for sure. What happens after that is debatable and who knows. I would think though, my fight to get something covered would be less of an issue with a FP tune vs a true aftermarket tune. I can’t say for sure though and it’s still a gamble.
