New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

OK, thanks. I am definitely concerned about disassembly. As we all know, there has been an exhaust recall and I want the ability to be able to put back the stock axle back with butt joint band clamp. My Explorer is not in that recall but if it develops the same issues, it should be covered...

Problems with Radio, GPS, and Collision Assistance

I'd second the factory reset. I actually do that after most Sync updates because I keep mainly default Sync settings so it's easy. Failing that, I'd recommend entering bezel diagnostics and in the GPS/satellite section, click DR Config reset. Your supposed to drive around after that taking a...

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

I am pretty sure these will work. Stock pipe is 2.25" and sounds like the Gibson overlaps it. There is some leeway with these as far as pipe spec deviating from 2.25" and it'll still work. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YDK3HD6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 UPDATE...

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

I had no idea the U bolts were that bad so I appreciate the discussion. The Gibson is just what I wanted: the right sized black tips, a bit more sound, and priced right. I don't like that I have to saw off the stock exhaust but already have sawzall with metal cutting blade--so not too big of...

BEWARE: Driveshaft kaboom from emergency auto-brake

it would appear the only setup getting the two bolts are Aviators. I'm curious if MY2022 STs have the one bolt. We'll see once they come out. MY2022 Aviators seem to continue with the the two bolt even though the tow rating was downgraded. Perhaps Ford is betting the cost savings is well...

    Cracked Front Camera Lens

I wonder if someone bumped their car into yours or intentionally vandalized the camera.

BEWARE: Driveshaft kaboom from emergency auto-brake

Not so sure. If you look at some of the aftermarket rear differential braces for other vehicles with the same single, off-axis rear diff mount, some are just a rigid brace bolting the differential to the subframe. BMW F series: 350/370Z:

    Explorer ST/Timberline Part Swap

I would want the rims for a snow setup. Love those rims.

    360 camera red lines

I just see moire effect. This is not all the time, right?

BEWARE: Driveshaft kaboom from emergency auto-brake

You can't do that. It's missing the entire differential mount that the bolt is supposed to insert into. No way to add that without some serious fabrication. Just compare the pics of the one bolt subframe vs. the two bolt and you'll see what I mean.

    Pre-buy Used 2020ST Check list?

yeah the white funnel. you can't fill the fuel from a canister without it! The trans cooler can be seen just looking underneath by the drivers door. The original door code is on a business card that comes with the manual.

    Pre-buy Used 2020ST Check list?

Check for trans oil dripping from the trans cooler. Hopefully, the manual will have the original drivers side door code that you need to change the code. It can be done without the original code but is a pain. Make sure the spare tire/jack is there and the fuel filler. On the test drive, listen...

    ST with 400a package

I am really disappointed in Ford. This is the first time I've seen a car being introduced and instead of gaining more features as standard with each passing year, options get taken away and the documentation of it is lacking. Not only that, when the MY2020 came out, it just seemed rather...

    Rear end damage

You wouldn't by chance have a copy of the repair invoice would you? If you do, would you mind posting it?

    Rear end damage

I would doubt that only 20 vehicles are affected. They list a full build week in August for the Explorer and 3 days for the Aviator. That's a good number of cars. Nice that with today's parts tracking that they know exactly which cars are affected though.

    Oil catch cans

I definitely like the preformed and largely hidden hose of the Mishimoto. Functionally, probably no different from the JLT.

Question About Snow Tire Fitment on ST

Sounds good. I'd probably try to contact the manufacturer of the wheels to find out the exact center bore. I don't think 72mm is a standard. My 18" KMC wheels are 72.6mm and suspect yours might be the same. Just get 72.6-to-70.5 hub centric rings if that's the case.
