Is the interior REALLY that bad??

My 22 has everything except the cupholder ambient lights. It’s only recent 22 models that are being stripped. And it’s gotten way out of hand.

    Real world mpg

I think that’s their reported highway mileage. No one is averaging 26mpg in this thing unless they only drive on the highway 100% lol

Is the interior REALLY that bad??

Well at least you did your research. But I gotta say that the ST offers something no other vehicles does at its price point. I think the general consensus is that it’s a great bang for your buck when it comes to power and overall very feature packed and pretty good quality. you’re going to have...

Is the interior REALLY that bad??

Not at all. The interior is nice enough and honestly I have no complaints. I think it just truly depends what you’re use to.

    C&D Test: 355 hp 2022 Acura MDX Type S

Yeah I was considering this when my ST was on order. Glad I didn’t wait. Very pricey. Most comments I’ve read is that at that pricing, it doesn’t compare very well to equivalent competition.

2022 Explorer ST 2nd Row Cup Holder Console Between Captain Chairs

Why do you guys want it? There’s plenty of cupholders elsewhere. The small storage there can’t be that useful.

    Real world mpg

19/20 I’d say mix driving with fun driving thrown in occasionally. This is why pretty much no highway driving and mainly suburbs.

    Seat tear

Another update: they ordered the wrong side seat cover!!! They get the whole seat out, and realize this. I can’t believe this. So the bs continues. I already said to the guy so now I want this whole thing covered. I drove over an hour here. He didn’t really acknowledge it but just kept saying...

who has the scoop on the '23 model?

I don’t know, I’m not seeing those concerns in my 22. I had a 17 before that was solid and I feel my 22 is the same. I haven’t appreciated any trim issues anywhere.

who has the scoop on the '23 model?

The plastic seat trim was fixed. There was wind noise engineering changes on the 22. I also see significantly less electrical system issues with the 21 and 22s compared to the 20s. 20s are well known to throw random codes up on the gauge cluster. Not all! But was most common in the 20s. And...

who has the scoop on the '23 model?

While always possible, it’s clear it was largely resolved. Significantly less complaints in those years.

who has the scoop on the '23 model?

Yeah for sure. But like the seat plastic trim was a known issue on the 2020. Fixed on later years. As it should be. Just like the 23 I suspect to be even more refined.

who has the scoop on the '23 model?

Honestly most those electrical and fit and finish issues are resolved on the 21 and most certainly the 22.

    Seat tear

Yeah I’m sure you’re right. I’ll just take it up with them tomorrow after the job is complete and cross my fingers.

    Seat tear

Well the service manager said that the regional rep agreed about be not having to pay the doubled price but apparently there is still someone else that makes the final decision. He was going on about how it’s all bureaucracy. That right there I would hope would be case enough that the dealer or...

    Seat tear

Yeah exactly. And it’s a dealer that’s over an hour away. Not my main dealer, just the selling dealer. So I have no problem making a fuss to them. Because it’s wrong. Cause otherwise had I known it could of changed the cost, I would of just drove the extra hour to the original dealer and saved...

    Seat tear

That’s exactly my fear and why I’m doing it mainly. I was planning to cause a little fire today with the one manager but then I realized I better not do that until they’re finished the job. Like you said, regardless I think I’m going to pay. I just feel the new price change isn’t right and they...

    Seat tear

Update: a month or so ago I got my selling dealer to file a good will claim. It was approved. $1000 to replace the seat. Ford was going to cover 90%. I asked the selling dealer, can their sister dealer that is much closer do it. They said sure. The other dealer was contacted and after some...

Converting crossmember from 1 bolt to 2

Wow incredible job. Seriously, the knowledge and skill to do such a job is astounding. Great work and thanks for sharing.

who has the scoop on the '23 model?

I don’t think any of those changes are going to happen. Not at least here in the US. The 23 aviator is largely unchanged, which is just the luxury version of the explorer. So I suspect no changes. I suspect they’ll wait for 24 when they switch over to android Os.
