    Hood Protector Installed

We live in the "Flying Bug" capital of the world. That looks like a great idea.

    Ford Performance Racing School

We were booked for Asheville in May and cancelled when the pandemic started. There was no cancellation charge then, and the hotel refunded our second night with no problem. We're going to re-book again for the fall. We're lucky in that we live only 100 miles from there.

    Sunroof vs no Sunroof

We hardly use it ourselves, but the grand kids won't get in it unless I open it. So yes, that makes it worthwhile.

    Auto Hold System Fault

The auto hold problem is one of the few faults mine has. Every so often it shuts off and you have to push the button to re start it. So far it's not worth a trip to the dealer, but it's on my list for when that time comes.

Problem on first day, powertrain warning

Bleve i Believe it or not the date on the window sticker is the date it was printed. The date on the door label is the actual vehicle built date.

    Ford Performance Racing School

We were booked for last month, before the world came to an end. Going to book again in the Fall. Figure North Carolina should be open and safe by then.. Everything I've seen about it looks like it's worth it.

Problem on first day, powertrain warning

The build date should be on the sticker on the drivers side door frame.

Problem on first day, powertrain warning

Out of curiosity, what is the build date of you ST? Most of those problems were supposed to have been corrected by December or January.

Welcome to the Explorer ST Forum, please post an introduction

We looked at a few, walked into Anderson Ford and this one was sitting in the showroom. My wife looked at the color and said "that's ours".

We do seem to have the only two of these trucks in Anderson. Mine's Rich Copper with the Street Package, Tech Package and Moonroof.

    Borla Exhaust Upgrade

Whoever at Ford wrote that should be sent for some re-training. Sounds like another engineer who never drove what he helped design. The enhanced sound comes through in Normal mode too.

Hey Bob, welcome to the forum. I'm from Anderson too.

Violent downshifts / "scrambling" upshifts -- anyone else experiencing this?

I read somewhere (probably here) that this is sometimes a problem after a few thousand miles, and can be fixed with a re-programming.

    New ST owner

Welcome to the forum. You picked a great car. I'm happy to hear about your little girl beating cancer. We went through that 7 years ago but didn't get the result we prayed for. Best of luck to you in the future.

    Wife Wants Explorer ST

We're at 3000 something. Drove the wheels off it for a week or two and then the virus everything down. Haven't had to take it for service, except for an early oil change. I h,ave 2 or 3 minor things that I'll have them fix the first time it goes in. As STircrazy said, turn it off and back on...

    Wife Wants Explorer ST

Most of the problems do seem to be with the earlier builds. Ours was built close to the end of 2019 and (knock wood) we haven't had any problems. And it is one fantastic truck.

Is everyone ok with the giant tablet and terrible bezel?

It does look a bit like someone left their I Pad sitting on the dash. On the other hand it makes it very easy to read the navigation map without having to take your eyes off the road. All in all I have grown to love it.

How does everyone wash and dry the roof?

I stand on the door sill and use my Ninja like ability to keep from falling on my a$$.

What would you have purchased if there were no Explorer ST?

The local Cadillac dealer gave me an XT6 to use for a day. It's a nice vehicle, but once I drove the ST it was an easy decision. The RWD platform just feels better, and the ST had so much more power.
