Offroad experiences - post em up!

You get several runs at the pylon course. I did one run "old school", actually got it to broadslide the U turn. Slower than the other times, but so much fun!

    It finally happened............

I'm sure about that. Next time I'll have it taken to them without letting anyone start it. Hopefully seeing it dead will help them diagnose it.

    It finally happened............

I got it back this afternoon. The report said the found, and cleared, multiple battery related faults, but the battery tested fine. The fact that the tow truck operator got it started with a good jump made me think. I took the Weego jumper out of my boat and will carry it in the ST just in case.

Offroad experiences - post em up!

At Asheville when they gave us our cars for the day the guy said: "Drive it like it's a rental".

    Can't decide, ST or Platinum?

My wife isn't a "car person". She couldn't care what she rides in. Fancy or plain, as long as it gets her there. When we walked into the Ford dealer "our" RIch Copper Metallic ST was sitting there. She looked at it and very loudly said "YES". The look on the salesmans face was priceless.

Offroad experiences - post em up!

As part of the Explorer Experience in Asheville last fall we got to do some easy off road driving. It seemed to handle it very well, although nothing like my Jeep Wrangler.

    It finally happened............

I've heard similar stories. If they don't find anything in the morning I think I'll argue for a new battery. It doesn't look like one you could replace at just any service station.

    It finally happened............

The service dept checked the battery and found it to be okay. Even the tow truck driver said the same. But you're right, voltage problems can mess with modern electronics.

    It finally happened............

I hope so too. I haven't been to the service department before, other than for routine service. I was impressed with them. They actually looked at it as it came off the flatbed. I wish they had found something, but I understand the problem with diagnosing an intermittent problem.

    It finally happened............

The service department says it is working perfectly. I told them to keep it overnight and try again. I would hate to take it home and have this happen again.

    It finally happened............

Build date 12/04/19. We bought it on February 1, 2020.

    It finally happened............

So, just like I thought might happen, the tow truck driver got in it and it started right up, and all the electronics worked. It's on his flatbed anyway, headed to the dealer. They said they still wanted to look at it, and I sure don't want it to happen again on the road.

    It finally happened............

Will do. The service department says they are full, so it may be a day or two, but I think I already guessed that.

    It finally happened............

After exactly one year and 11,000 miles mine developed "the troubles". Yesterday about half of the electronics stopped working, cameras, driver alert, even the clock. I parked it overnight and this morning the battery was dead. When I tried to jump start it every alarm on the dash display...

    Can't decide, ST or Platinum?

I traded my 1017 Platinum for the 2020 ST and haven't regretted it for a minute. The Platinum is nice, a fie attempt at a luxury car, but the ST goes in a different direction. It's a high performance SUV, something you don't find very often. If you want luxury and comfort go with the Platinum...

    Extreme cold issues

I haven't seen it in the book anywhere, but using the stalk switches the "auto" icon on and off. Now, how did you activate navigation in motion?

    Extreme cold issues

My auto high beams take a vacation every so often. They usually start working again all by themselves. Do you know you can turn the auto function on and off with the high beam stalk? Push or pull it and look for the "auto" icon with the other light icons.

Name ONE ST Feature others might not know.....

I'm pretty sure it does both. There are several places where it changes the speed limit well before I pass a sign.

    TPMS programming issues

I read somewhere that Ford uses 2 different frequency TMPS. If your new ones are Ford takeoffs that might be the problem. I recently switched to a set of takeoffs from another ST and they linked up within 5 minutes

    The Covid Vaccine....Opinions

I've already had my first shot, and I'm scheduled for the second. My wife was too young for it, but starting Monday they've changed the age requirement, so she'll go for her first. Her immune system is compromised, so we're glad to get her whatever protection this vaccine offers.
