Torn on installing dash cam via mirror tap vs fuse

You removed the a pillar? I’m curious how how sgt did it. Seems like he didn’t remove the a pillar. It seems straightforward, I’m just not sure about that one section in my first pic, below the air vent. Barely any gap there to hide the wire.

Torn on installing dash cam via mirror tap vs fuse

Okay thank you. So question about running the wire. So in the second picture, is that where you ran your wire? Space right between the window and a pillar? There does seem to be enough space to tuck the wire. Then the first picture, the arrow closest to the window, there seems to be space to...

Ford Explorer ST Vehicle Order Tracking

I am honestly not sure. But I would post your story here https://blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/forum/80-vehicle-locator-by-ford-employees/ it’s run on a voluntary basis by ford employees and I bet with your current sorry, someone would help you track down your car. I’m sorry you’re...

I don’t check anymore but that did happen several times previously I remember.

Pause Apple CarPlay from steering wheel?

Yeah I don’t think that’s possible. Just have to manually hit the pause button on the screen.

Torn on installing dash cam via mirror tap vs fuse

It’s the airbag behind it that worries me.

Torn on installing dash cam via mirror tap vs fuse

So my initial plan was to just do a mirror tap like I did on my old explorer. I did start to mess with removing the black cover piece and the one side came off relatively easily. So I think that way would be straightforward. However, all these writes up on fuse hook up or obdii hookup with the...

    Any 2022's Autostop Eliminated and/or FORScan'd yet

Yeah I can see that. So did it fail to start altogether or did it just take too long to start? also if you angle the steering wheel even the slightest bit, it won’t activate the feature.

    Any 2022's Autostop Eliminated and/or FORScan'd yet

Just curious, why the strong dislike for it? It’s a common feeling just wondering.

    Any 2022's Autostop Eliminated and/or FORScan'd yet

I haven’t heard of anyone doing it yet. I’m almost positive the 21 methods would work though. I thought I’d be jumping on this procedure but I haven’t found the auto start stop to bothersome yet.

Ford Explorer ST Vehicle Order Tracking

Wow. So when you log onto ford tracking website, it says in production. When you said you called ford, is that the dealer or like their main customer service line? And than your dealer said they don’t think it’s there. Definitely weird. Your dealer has tracking system that can determine exactly...

Ford Explorer ST Vehicle Order Tracking

Yeah that’s very strange. Don’t think I’ve heard anyone report that. Your dealer definitely has more access to detail information. I would reach out and demand an update.

    Rear end damage

Nothing they haven’t done before. 5th carbon monoxide issue.

    Rear end damage

I’m catching up in this thread now that I have my 22 ST. But where did you see that your car was supposed to have two bolts?

    Mirror tap for Radar detector

Ok thanks. Anywhere particularly I should pull from? It’s a pretty big piece. And guessing it just pops back on pretty easily?

    Mirror tap for Radar detector

Anyone do this for a dash cam? I’m assuming it’ll work. It’s what I did for my 17 explorer. My main concern is pulling that black cover piece off. I swear I’ll break something. Any tips on removing it?

    Rear end damage

Yeah it’s very strange. I mean that’s enough there given they’re based off the same platform to make a case if it were to fail. Just seems like negligence on fords end. I’m not gonna stress about it but it is interesting nonetheless.

    Rear end damage

Agreed on this. And do we have actual documented evidence that at some point 6th gen STs had two bolts? If so, if it were to ever fail, then you say well why did it ever get downgraded to one bolt when previous version of this car had two.
