Yes it is possible, I just did it myself. The installation is not a big deal for anyone handy with tools but you gain the OEM warranty of you get the dealership to install. I paid a fraction of what Ford wants for the Dual Headrest DVD package but I would recommend some of the newer style kits...

I use SYNC4 in a work truck, and on a demo Mach E, its very unimpressive to say the least. It looks great on the big 12" screen in the new 2021/22 F150 but functionality is still nothing like GM MyLink or FCA U-Connect.

I agree SYNC3 is a poorly executed system but mapping is optimized for the 10 " screen, hopefully there will be a migration path for 2020/21 owners to bump up to SYNC4. I turned mine off in vehicle settings and it stays off. Scares the crap out of ya when it false alerts and slams the brakes on.

I agree with you, I like the B&O system sound but the sound in my other vehicle a 2021 Jeep GC Overland by Harman Kardon is significantly better. But then again U-Connect is significantly better than SYNC3.

Chicago Assembly has been down since July 5th, plans are to resume production August 2nd if all goes well. Production will be 2021 balance out of orders in the system
