    Gun safe under rear hatch?

Yes. Still able to use the cover with the box in place. The handle and lock are a tight fit and can be a little tight to reach but it’s doable. Again - it’s a custom fit so not perfect, but I use it daily when using public parking lots and needing to secure my laptop. My ST was totaled and...

    Bad day for the ST

Thanks guys. The ST was my daily driver. Agreed, the ST was a slightly rough ride (by design) and based on the South Texas roads I travel it was a little much at times - but solid as a rock on open & flat interstate. For the 30K miles I drive every year I’m leaning toward the Platinum...

    Bad day for the ST

Thank you for the response. Not CPO. There’s also a 2023 Platinum with 19k miles for $42K (which I could probably get for $40k. Seems like a better value with balance of factory warranty.

    Bad day for the ST

Thank you for the kind words. Agreed, the most important thing is that nobody got hurt. I’ll always remember the ST as a great car as I put 28K miles on it in the 10 months I had it. It was my 3rd explorer. Still looking for a replacement and just found an almost flawless (needs new...

    Bad day for the ST

I was hit hard by a driver going the wrong way on a 2 lane road. The ST ended up hitting a curb at a 90 degree angle at about 40 mph. Cosmetic damage didn’t look too bad at first but suspension, wheels/tires and body damage resulted in a total loss. Fortunately no injuries. I’d like to...

    Center console- what is this?

Inside center console under the rubber mat there is a rectangular plastic cover. When I removed it this is what I found. Anyone know what it is?

    6 Faults and AWD Module

My 2020 with 46K miles is at the dealership right now with all codes mentioned above. Service manager says it’s the AWD module as expected based on previous posts here. I replaced speed sensor before taking it in but it didn’t fix the issues. For the guys who had it replaced under warranty...

    Oil capacity

Thank you. Looks like you were right. Dipstick says it’s full after 3 hours of allowing oil to drain back to the oil pan. I appreciate your response.

    Oil capacity

First oil change on the (new to me) 2020. Put in 6 quarts and a new oil filter. Dipstick is reading well below the mid-point indicating it still needs more. Oil containers were sealed when I got them and I didn’t spill any when pouringthe new stuff in. Engine was warmed up when I...

    Gun safe under rear hatch?

Part list is very simple. Here’s the $135 box that I used. There are plenty of different sizes available. I secured it to the spare tire below the floor with a long bolt plus a couple washers and nuts that I had lying around. Please note this box isn’t custom designed for the explorer...

    Gun safe under rear hatch?

Just finished this. Found a metal storage box from Amazon that fit under the floor and above the spare tire cover. Ran a bolt from spare tire through the cover and into the bottom of the box. Still have spare tire and provides hidden & lockable storage for tools, laptop, firearm, purse, etc.
