What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Changed my oil. First time doing it myself as my service plan is over. Just used Pennzoil Platinum as it was on sale at my local O'Reillys and a Motorcraft filter. I know it's not Amsoil or anything special but I figure it's good enough if I change it every 5000 miles. Also replaced the...

Is it only when turning? CV axle probably going out.

    Modem and navigation issues

My dealer quoted $1400, but since I'm only 200 miles out of warranty, Ford said they would still cover most of it.

    Modem and navigation issues

Exact thing started happening to me about 2 weeks ago. Took it to the dealer and, as I expected, my APIM is on its way out and needs to be replaced.

    ZFG Racing DMS Custom Tunes!!!

Anything from ZFG is a custom tune. The DMS tune just allows you to have different tune types (essentially different power levels) assigned to different drive modes.

    Powerstop Brakes

None. I have 20x9.5 RTR Tech 5 wheels. There's plenty of spoke clearance with those. If you're using factory wheels you'll need some 1" spacers.

    Powerstop Brakes

Where I deviated from that list is: Calipers; I got base black GT350 calipers (poverty-spec base brakes on my ST) Powerstop Z23 pads Retainer clip/pin kit from LMR Mustang GT350/R Front Brake Pad Retainer Clip & Pin Kit (15-20) (lmr.com) Reusable Allen-head caliper bolts from MMR 2016-2020...

    Powerstop Brakes

I have Z23 pads on my stock rear calipers (and Powerstop rotors) and GT350 front calipers. No complaints, almost zero dust, perfect fit, great stopping power at all speeds.

    Mustang Wheels?

@traxiii There are plenty of other 20" Mustang wheels that will work. Unfortunately, they just won't match your Mach 1. Maybe someone makes a replica of this style in 20s?

    Mustang Wheels?

Offset it a bit low, mine are +33 and would be better at +30. Tire size is probably limited in something 30ish tall and a 19" wheel, you'd need like a 275/55-19.

    Steeda spacers for mustang?

Click the link and look at what the APPLICATIONS are. Even if they didn't give you that info, you can find the S550 Mustang and U625 Explorer share the same bolt pattern and hub diameter so these spacers will fit.

Nope, no need for one. I had a brain fart and didn't check this until after I put them on and they fit. The hub size is the same as the S550 Mustangs, 70.5mm.

@JFivepoint0 The Aero 7s are SICK! I was going to get these for my Mustang before I sold it. I'm only about the body positivity movement when it comes to tires. I love me some FAT sidewalls, and the Aero 7s will just take that look to the next level. Another reason to go with 285/50s, this...

My lug nuts are ChasingJs titanium lugs. Super light, saved 1.5lbs per corner. Not cheap, $350 per set. They come in raw titanium like I have now, burnished blue/purple color I used to have, a black carbon color. I like that they're a cool detail real car guys notice, they're a local Orange...

For the price, RTR wheels are tough to beat. I mean, yes you can drop a mortgage payment or 3 on forged 22s, but even with the "lowly" flow-formed Tech 5s I dropped 9 pounds per corner over stock. Just make sure you're looking at the S550 Mustang RTRs for the proper fit.

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Yes, one-way check valve. Seems to be the only speed bleeder I've found that gets good reviews. Yes you have to add some hose to it so you don't just spray fluid all over the place, but you don't need to worry about closing it until you're done, air or dirty fluid won't go back in. Just pump...

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Installed the GT350 front brakes. Please excuse the dirty wheels, I need to wash it. I got the black base GT350 calipers as I have the poverty-spec base brakes anyway, no need for red. Used all the Ford hardware, only changes were Powerstop Z23 pads and MMR caliper bolts instead of the Ford...

    Rear wiper delete now available.

Super easy. Unbolt the wiper arm from the outside. Pull off the hatch interior panel, unscrew the wiper motor, put the plug in place. Was a 30 minute job.
