    Real world mpg

As someone who came from a Durango SRT to the Explorer ST, 15 is optimistic. 11-13 is usually what I saw with a heavy foot, 10-12 in Michigan winters. I did average 20 once on a long trip with mostly 55 mph roads. If you're doing 70-80, it's more like 17-18. I do miss the off-idle/low RPM...

Explorer ST Adapt-X Tune (OEM Octane Learning and drivability)

"Satisified customer" perhaps? I use to drive 40miles one way to work every day, 3 days would be plenty to compare MPG. You don't know the guy, yet you're willing to ASSume he's a shill because his ACTUAL experience goes against what you think.

Explorer ST Adapt-X Tune (OEM Octane Learning and drivability)

"However, the indicated specific hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide emissions increased with advanced spark timing and increased DI ratio " - https://www.sae.org/publications/technical-papers/content/2017-01-2230/ "The retard of spark timing aids post-combustion, therefore increasing exhaust...

Explorer ST Adapt-X Tune (OEM Octane Learning and drivability)

It's pretty common for a tune to increase MPG because they usually advance the timing across the board. More timing = more HP, which means you can use less fuel to keep the vehicle moving at part throttle. The downside? It increases emissions, which is probably one of the main reasons the...

    Mishimoto's Performance Intercooler R&D Thread

I just picked up my ST yesterday, so I guess this is good timing. I don't expect there to be a performance improvement vs. the Whipple IC, so a launch discount price is what I'm looking for.

Introducing Thermal R&D 3-inch Exhaust system! (Sound Clips)

If you're still running the stock cats, I doubt it makes any difference, they're the big restriction.

Ford Explorer ST Vehicle Order Tracking

My ST arrived today, just picked it up. Pretty excited, but also very relieved it's finally here, took 6 1/2 months. History: 11/30 - Ordered 11/30 - Order confirmed email 11/30 - Tracker: Ordered 12/16 - Ford Email: Scheduled for production on 2/28/22 1/12 - Ford Email: Production moved...

Introducing Thermal R&D 3-inch Exhaust system! (Sound Clips)

Lots of exhaust systems claim no drone but have drone as reported by reviewers. I haven't heard anyone say that about the 2.5" thermal setup, which is why it's the one I am planning on getting once my ST arrives.

Ford Explorer ST Vehicle Order Tracking

I agree, sounds like BS. I suspect with the vehicle shortage, dealers are doing other things to generate profit. At this point, you're only out 2 weeks of your time if you go elsewhere, it may be worth it.

Introducing Thermal R&D 3-inch Exhaust system! (Sound Clips)

This is a dangerous thing to say, especially if it's secondhand. Every review I've heard says the 2.5" has no drone and now people think it has drone.

Ford Explorer ST Vehicle Order Tracking

Several people have reported it not being updated until well after delivery or never at all. My dealer texted me on 6/6 when mine shipped, the tracking website didn't show it as shipped until 6/10. It was marked as built on 5/26. I was given an ETA of 6/14-6/20, it's Chicago to Detroit...

Ford Explorer ST Vehicle Order Tracking

lol, pot meet kettle. Glad you got your ST, I ordered the same color and just got my built email before memorial weekend, delivery ETA June 14-20, but I'm not holding my breath since it took them 5 months to go from production to built.

Ford Explorer ST Vehicle Order Tracking

I thought it was Palsapp for shipping to the dealer? This is the United Road link I have that doesn't require a login, it's what Ford used to move vehicles to the Manheim Chicago Auto Auction - https://www.unitedroad.com/delivery-receipt

What to do with your order after you move on?

Funny how you're expected to wait on Ford, but Ford won't wait for you.

Ford Explorer ST Vehicle Order Tracking

Nice! Was yours one of the ones sitting at the Chicago Auto Auction? If so, do you know when it was delivered there? I'm trying to get an idea of when mine might be done.

Ford Explorer ST Vehicle Order Tracking

This is my frustration. It's not first come, first serve, it's some messed up priority system, and as a first time Ford buyer, they've pretty much proven they don't care about me.

Ford Explorer ST Vehicle Order Tracking

Nice, I ordered the same color. Hope you have better luck than me, I ordered from Dean Sellers in Troy on 11/30, went into production 1/24, was shipped off-site unfinished on 1/26, and haven't heard anything since.

Ford Explorer ST Vehicle Order Tracking

Mine's been sitting at the Chicago Auto Auction since 1/26. The last ETA I was given was 5/14, but I'm pretty sure that won't happen.

Ford Explorer ST Vehicle Order Tracking

Zip, zero, zilch from Ford. I talked to my dealer, who still says 5/14 delivery (2/14 was original), even though the vehicle tracker no longer displays a date. I'm curious if anyone who had their ST sent to the Chicago Auto Auction back in January has had theirs completed.

    Reconsidering Explorer ST

I had a Durango SRT and absolutely loved it. I'd still be driving it if some low-life hadn't stolen it. I looked into the Hellcat, but they were going for over 100K, and I can't justify that price for a Durango. Being a one year model, I don't see prices coming down any time soon. New SRTs...
