What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

I haven't put lots of miles on the car yet, but so far I'd say it helped a bit. Not a huge difference or anything, but the Strut bar, springs, and rear sway bar (all Steeda) made a world of difference.

    Smoking on startup after sitting

I would have assumed that as well, but with this being the 5th time I'll be back after the replacement (and less than 1000 miles) I'm not so sure it's safe to assume anything at this point.

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

hahaha, I already caught that and removed it. I closed the hood and right away I was like "crap, I forgot the other bolt" and had to open it up again. As I posted the photo I saw it there and figured someone would make that catch too :ROFLMAO:

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

I had ordered this while it was on sale for the 4th and before I saw the newest problem with the car... but put it on today since it arrived.

    Smoking on startup after sitting

After the engine replacement I've started having this same issue. Hopefully next week I'll be going back in with it (4th time since the engine was replaced). If they find anything I'll update this.

    Rear end damage

ah ok, I thought they all worked the same for that haha. I had the recall done and it did auto set, but then I flashed my tune again and it wiped it out hahahaha. Oops.

    Interior creaks and rattles

There are still some noises that are present and maybe someday I'll figure out, but overall I'd say it's 85% better still. Who knows, maybe some of those noises will go away when it's not 110+ outside lol.

    Rear end damage

Your vehicle doesn't do this? I have the habit of setting the brake too, but just tapping the gas in drive or reverse releases the brake without me doing it if I forget.

    Interior creaks and rattles

I noticed the same, especially with the seats on the cars in Park City when I went. I'm wondering if the seats that no longer have the massaging parts will have the same noises. I really feel like that's the source of it, but I'm not willing to tear the seat apart haha.

    Interior creaks and rattles

Yup, I have the pano roof. So far I haven't noticed much noise coming from that area though.

    Interior creaks and rattles

I used the 1/2" with a 5/32" center for the most recent ones I made

    Interior creaks and rattles

For anyone that wants to give this a go (and maybe improve on) here is the felt, velvet sheets, and punch set that I have been using. Felt Sheets (it was one of the cheaper packs haha) Self Adhesive Velvet sheets Punch Set

    Interior creaks and rattles

The dealer had my vehicle for a few days this past week and there were some more creaks from the drivers side door after I'm sure it was sitting out in the sun. But it's still better right now. So, I decided to tackle the pass side and went a step further and did the following as well. This...

    Rear end damage

The plastics on the steering wheel and dash are the matte finish which only was on the 2020 model, they switched to the gloss black for 2021, so the one you are referring to would have had the 4 bolt.

IAT’s - Stock vs Whipple Intercooler

I agree that it is, the size of the stock IC was the same as the one on the Focus ST I had with the 2.0l 4 cylinder (I upgraded that one too). So no real surprise it was that bad on this.

IAT’s - Stock vs Whipple Intercooler

I would say the IAT's aren't as much of a concern since that is before the IC in the first place, the charge air temps is where you will see the difference. Here is the stock IC: Whipple: The outside air temps were over 100 degrees on both of these logs at the time. There was less than a 5...

Reverse lights don’t always come on in reverse

There are times when the radio is unresponsive for me, doing a soft reset of the system has worked each time and you can do it while the vehicle is on. Hold both the Power & FF buttons for about 5 seconds until it reboots and you should be good to go.

Does the ST come standard with remote start?

Reading this got me thinking about that again and I did a little searching and couldn't find anything online. So I looked in the app and under Account > Help there is a chat option. I did this and asked the agent how you submit feedback and feature requests and they responded "Through this...

    Interior creaks and rattles

Ok, so I decided to give something else a try. I ordered some self adhesive velvet sheets and 1mm thick felt. If this all works out and anyone wants to do the same, I can link to exactly what I bought off Amazon for this. After taking the door apart again I did notice that the foam washers I...

I broke it on the test drive..

I can tell you right now an engine replacement is something you really don't want to have to deal with. I had to have mine replaced, I have been without my vehicle 4 months this year, been back 3 times, and still need to go back due to the lack of quality from the job that was done.
