    Opinions on ‘used’ 2020 ST

Another reason it could have low miles is from being a dealer demo unit. Before I decided to order the ST I had a loaner for a weekend and put a few hundred miles on it and someone was getting it as a loaner when I returned it as well. Then once they have XXXX number of miles they take it out of...

    Tuning for dummies

Any tuner should be able to provide multiple tunes for any grade fuel you want to run. Before getting the Explorer I decided to just run the 87 tune on my Edge to save some money on my 700+ mile (one way) trips to CA where 91 (only 91 is avail in AZ and CA sadly) was close to $4/gallon it...

    Forscan laptop

it's a pretty lightweight software and you could either buy a cheap new windows based laptop (no need for crazy specs if you don't need it for anything else), or use bootcamp on your mac to install windows and just use your current laptop.

    Forscan code

I haven't tried on the Explorer yet, but the 2019 Edge wouldn't let you shift out of park if the vehicle was running and the key wasn't in the car.

What’s the deal with the fiber/fabric in the wheel wells??

I just checked and I have a 2700 PSI pressure washer. I always use a 15 or 25 degree tip which reduces the pressure as well.

What’s the deal with the fiber/fabric in the wheel wells??

I don't fully agree with this. I would NOT recommend getting close and having the full pressure of the washer spraying on the liner, however if you back up a little so the pressure isn't as much you should be fine. I used my gas pressure washer (I can look at the PSI if needed) and it was fine...

What did you learn that's not in the Users Manual?

This is something that can be enabled or disabled in the vehicle options as well.

Name ONE ST Feature others might not know.....

For the 3.3L Hybrid the 318HP / 322 Torque is the combined (motor(s) and engine) according to Ford.

    FordPass

If you do a Master/Factory reset of the sync system it kills any authorized users and notifies them via the app and email. There is no need to have the dealer do anything with that part.

Put 400 miles on the vehicle today

I have a feeling that once I have a tune the numbers will drop since I'll be having a bit more fun hahaha

    FordPass

The WiFi doesn't have anything to do with the FordPass app, it's cellular based. When you are in the vehicle (and on) there should be a pop up that asks you to confirm you want to pair/authorize the vehicle with the app.

Basic brakes to ST brake kit

I learned early on in my car loving life to not trust salesmen to have accurate information. Things change on these vehicles pretty rapidly and the only things salesmen worry about is $$$ in the end, they aren't going to study all the changes on every make and model. Because of this I do my own...

Put 400 miles on the vehicle today

I was actually surprised that I averaged like 21mpg with the mixed driving that I did. I wasn't exactly "easy" on the throttle unless conditions needed me to be :)

Put 400 miles on the vehicle today

I tried ECO for a few minutes and doubt I will ever use it under normal driving, maybe long trips with LONG straight parts lol. I had a 2013 Focus ST that I traded in for the 2019 Edge ST (Ford just bought that back) and now have the 2021 Explorer ST. So far the Explorer seems to be pretty good...

Already did that today to get as much of the mud off as possible, lol

Put 400 miles on the vehicle today

The initial thought was to drive up to Sedona, but changed plans and went to Pine and Payson. It was on the way there and back that I hit the snow (not sure what area specifically it was).

Put 400 miles on the vehicle today

I was actually surprised at the difference in the drive modes to be honest. I used most of them and the one that really stuck out was "Slippery", throttle response is lagging (good thing to limit wheel spin), and I did use the deep snow/mud for the first place I pulled off since the back end...

Put 400 miles on the vehicle today

Started the day with 100 miles on the odo and ended with 500 for the day yesterday. First trip and the vehicle saw rain, mud, rocks, and snow. The mud and rocks were sooooo not planned .
