I'm an A&P, you couldn't pay me enough to fly on anything made by AirCrash Industries.. & this is coming from a guy who thinks nothing of jumping into an 70-80year old aircraft (Unless it's operated by the CAF) (& friends don't let friends fly Robinsons) ;)

Related issue: Someone changed the height it opens to, it's too low, I read up how you can change it to open lower, but nothing about how to restore original height... Removing the fuse or disco'ing the battery doesn't reset it. I did try pushing up on it when it was open, but there was more...

well tbf, if ya remove a bunch of features then you'll have less issues.. The Flintstone Syndrome... Fred never got flats... ;)

Sitting in a restaurant this afternoon, looked out the window & noticed just how much the ST badge on the back really stands out from the other end of the parking lot. Three weeks & still haven't seen another ST around town, but I know there's at least two others. Did see a Gen 6 XLT today though.

Given the gloss finish on the inside of the wheels, why wouldn't anyone clean & wax them? Good thing about living in the Mojave, not having to deal with rain & mud on the roads etc.

Three updates: 1) With the rear lifted on one unijack there is 14in of clearance at the front jack point to get a 2nd one under there. This is more than enough to get the pin in a low enough hole to get the front wheel off the ground. 2) Rubber pinch weld pad is a waste of time. After 4 lifts...

I did the other three & got done just before noon :) While I was down there up front I also gave that big plastic valance panel a wipe. Can't believe the amount of weld spatter all over the steel parts of the suspendies & structure etc .

I figured I can use the jack under the rear lift doodad which will also lift the front enough to get the pin in the 5th hole or maybe lower (as soon as I buy the 2nd one). However, having had a wheel off this afternoon I'm not sure I want to lift one any higher than is absolutely necessary...

I guess Ford decided they just had to save 20c by not painting the half shafts...

My calibrated elbow is telling me there's no way in hell these were torqued to 150 ft/lb. This may have been the first time the wheel came off since it was built. I loosened them with a breaker bar & would have run them off/on with my IR Titanium, but couldn't get the enthusiasm to walk 30ft to...
