    Capless Fuel Lock

Been checking occasionally - nothing. Haven’t even seen an aftermarket equivalent.

    2022 Ford Maverick

Honestly the design looks dated to me. The first thing it reminded me of was the older 2000ish Explorers. It’s not exactly the same of course but that’s what it looks like to my eye.

    2022 Ford Maverick

Honestly it does nothing for me. They did not do a good job of the front end at all. The whole package basically looks, as I believe was mentioned above, like a Honda Ridgeline. That front end is…yeah. I can see it having its purpose for people who need a light truck in crowded city or...

Getting irritated with some of the driver assist functions

Must have been an improvement in 2021. Nice

Getting irritated with some of the driver assist functions

Why not turn such annoyances off?

Getting irritated with some of the driver assist functions

You have to do it every time you drive. Hit the parking sensors button on the dash (by the hazard lights button) to disable the parking sensors and simultaneously disable the reverse braking assist. Go into driver assistance settings in the menu and disable the pre collision assist features as...

Tailgate - Disabling the kick-to-open-or-close motion feature (full pictures)

I’m a big guy so I suspect I probably cause more disruption of whatever EM field that thing generates, plus I’ve got a shit ton of metal in my leg so that may not be helping it either. Not sure about other people’s circumstances however.

Tailgate - Disabling the kick-to-open-or-close motion feature (full pictures)

I definitely wouldn’t try to make it work again, but that’s just me.

How to disable hands-free liftgate feature???

I wrote this up in a separate thread here: https://www.explorerst.org/threads/tailgate-disabling-the-kick-to-open-or-close-motion-feature-full-pictures.1938/

    Electric Brake Controller (Curt Echo)

I have read that with many Fords, the ignition needs to be on (not necessarily actually running) and the car needs to be in Tow/Haul mode or Trailer mode, whatever it’s called. Not sure it this is your problem but worth a try.

Tailgate - Disabling the kick-to-open-or-close motion feature (full pictures)

Oh trust me, it was my great pleasure both to kill that stupid thing and also to share with others how it can be killed. Fair warning, an inspection mirror or other tiny mirror can be your friend.

Reverse Stop and shifted itself into park

Turn off the general parking sensors (push the button with the pylon symbol under the centre screen ((beside the hazard lights)) until the button shows OFF). All parking sensors will be disabled and so will reverse brake assist. Turns off the annoying “boop boop...

Tailgate - Disabling the kick-to-open-or-close motion feature (full pictures)

Have you gone up to the back end of your 2020+ Explorer and flailed your leg around like a crazy person having a seizure but the gate wouldn't open? Have you ever been standing under your open tailgate, collecting your groceries, and had the tailgate close on your head repeatedly even if your...

    Door mirror glass removal

Best way I’ve found to date for getting the glass out of a side mirror is to get too close to a construction zone pylon on the highway and clip the mirror at 100kph. Ejected the glass only, folded the mirror shell in but didn’t break it off, hardly even a scuff on it. Only downside was I had...

    Oil change schedule

Changing mine every 8000km give or take a few hundred. Aka roughly 5000 miles. Whatever full synthetic the dealership puts in it. Works out to be roughly every 8-10 weeks for me.

My tailgate is possessed. I need a priest.

Thank you for sharing your results. Mine has been slightly better behaved lately but I dare say I shall fondle my way inside the bumper cover soon too. Had enough bumps on the head that I just don’t care to give it any credit.

    Transmission Leak

When mine was in the dealer for maintenance they found the pan gasket was leaking, but that doesn’t look like what you’re dealing with.
