Welcome to the forum. I sure someone on this forum can give you advice on replacing the purge valve. Sorry I couldn't help on that issue.

Just got a 2021 Ford Explorer ST. Came here for advice on replacing the purge valve.

I just went out and re-inserted that connector and it appears to only go in that far before clicking on. Could something with my evap purge valve be wrong with the intake and/or vacuum line install?

...the emergency filler tube then proceeded to insert it into the filler neck a bunch of times. Hopefully my neighbors werent watching. Cleared the code. Next fill-up same issue. I ordered a new purge valve (L1MZ5K291M). Replaced it last week. Cleared codes. So far so good even after a fill up.

I replaced my purge valve with an aftermarket brand and it failed 3-4 days later. I replaced with OEM part and solved my issue. Just sharing my experience here.

Is it hard to replace? Does this happen often?? Thanks unbroken you quick on the responses

Purge valve is hung open. Get a new one.

...brace kit and also their vertical link brace kit to use until FenFab finishes his billet vertical link. And I have some issues it fix at the same time. The usual shaft speed sensor and also the purge valve are on the fritz so those are sitting here too but there’s nothing fun about that. lol

Out of curiosity, where was it on the car and how long did it take to do? That 1-2 hour quote from the tech left me scratching my head lol

Changed the purge valve and didn't touch the ecu and it worked like a charm! Tks everyone as always for the great info.

Once the pump shuts off, I stop . So many people gassing up don"t.

I hardly ever fill up...gas is so expensive lol. I typically run with 50-75% full gas tank. Tks for the feedback. Sounds like this purge valve is cheap and easy to install so I might just fix it.

...got it fixed. It was intermittent and didn't have a problem starting rather it felt like it was stalling out at the first few stops driving then idling. After a mile or 2 it was normal. I think the evap purge valve gets damaged if you overfill the gas tank, which is what I know I did a few times.
