NEW Product Alert! The AWR Racing rear diff mount

I have the Thermal and it is tight for wrench motion. When torqueing the subframe bolts leave the thrubolt nut off and there is room for a deep socket.

Poll: How many have experienced a "rear axle bolt fracture" (POLL CLOSED 6-4-22)

Just install the AWR brace from Whoosh. Took me 30 minutes and now I have peace of mind. Waiting on manufacturers to fix an issue will take forever. I would much rather go with "track" proven then by some dweeb saying it "should" work.

NEW Product Alert! The AWR Racing rear diff mount

Installed! For the 3 O'clock bolt first put thru the brace then push bolt upwards till it passes a ridge then it will slip in as you pull it down toward the ground. I did as Ricky did and loosely mounted the diff plate first. If you follow this method you need to wiggle the bushing housing a bit...

NEW Product Alert! The AWR Racing rear diff mount

Question? Should I wait for this recall/inspection before installing the brace? I do not want to give the dealer any added ammunition hahahaha. Tommy

NEW Product Alert! The AWR Racing rear diff mount

You may want to consider getting an E18 ratcheting wrench or a short 3/8 drive socket as there is not much room You may want to consider getting an E18 ratcheting wrench or a short 3/8 drive socket as there is not much room between that 3 o'clock differential bolt and the subframe itself. Tommy

NEW Product Alert! The AWR Racing rear diff mount

If you look at the bolt receiver castings the stress molds are lateral not vertical. This doesn't support the "z" loads up and down.. This mount supports both x and z. The forces. once the bolts are secured acts on the whole assembly. Just like the after market rear motor mounts on the Focus...

NEW Product Alert! The AWR Racing rear diff mount

I am going this route. Who knows maybe this alternative will prove stronger than the 4 bolt standard. I hate dealing with moron dealer service reps as they generally have absolutely no clue. Funny I replaced my oil lines in my Lotus 12 years ago before the recall that was issued. Guess what...

Anyone have the Wix oil filter #?

+1 for UPR drain plug! Makes it a 20 minute ordeal to change oil with no mess. Also I use the K&N filter which comes with O rings but for some odd reason the website says it won't fit and suggests a standard canister filter. Weird. here is the part number. HP7037. I have a 21

Anyone use Apple Watch for remote start?

Yes, it worked great! I used it for the Spartan race when I did not want to take anything but the watch. It is also a good redundancy to memorize the door code just in case. Tommy

Are the fog lights' aim adjustable like headlights?

I would bet that one of the components (crash bar) (Shutter assembly) is not installed correctly behind the front cowl assembly causing a warp. Mine are the same pre and post installation. Did you install the mega cooler yourself? Tommy

    Backup brake assist

I am pretty sure it can see a freaking ant! If you ever get a hitch mounted bike rack, be sure to shut it off!

    RWD ST

Usually even in platforms designed to be 4WD/AWD, a rear drive only has a better towing capacity. This is historically for ladder on frame designs. There may be a fuel economy difference as well, but with today's electronics it is probably moot. Weight on the other hand is still physics

    Any 2022's Autostop Eliminated and/or FORScan'd yet

The people that voted to make this mandatory in internal combustion cars are the same people that have never actually driven a car or know anything about engines, Period! Everything in life revolves about some one or a group making money. If you don't recognize that then lease your car and not...

Socket or wrench for differential cover bolts

Hi all, maybe a dumb question, the bolts for the rear differential cover appear to be a s splined design. I have seen 12 point splines on flywheel bolts and some lug bolts. Is this a special tool or how do I source this? Thank you, Tommy

Drivability problem this morning, need opinions

That sounds close to the cam phasor issue but that usually goes away as oil pressure builds. I know the HPFP can be noisy but that sounds really loud like valvetrain. If it is the fuel pump that could cause the hesitation. Not sure on the Explorer but on my Focus ST the pump was driven by the...

    Oil Brands you use?

Redline, has never let me down even in my track car. Expensive but imho worth it. Tommy

Wish they made one for my daughter's new VW Tiguan. Yes my wife's BMW remembers setting.

    Rear end damage

The FenFab Diffy-stiffy looks pretty simple and is akin to what many supports look like across many car models. At the very least it will prevent a major shift if the single bolt is sheared. While thinking about the failure I was wondering if the existing bolt became un-torqued and created play...
