Post 2 - Oil catch can installation, observations and results

A nicely written article, good research. I would also add the following: since the early GDI engines which didn't have the right baffling, and didn't anticipate this problem, a lot of changes have been made. One of the things that manufacturers do with cam timing mechanisms is to help with gas...

Ford Performance Tune *Repost Please Ignore*

You should read the original Ford Performance thread. In the end, there is no absolute answer. If you get a tune and some part completely unrelated to your drive train fails, you're good, they aren't going to care. Now, if you're tuned and blow your engine or transmission for example, and the...

    Locking gas cap/plug source?

Are you sure about the gas door locking? I've never checked mine, but it seems that I remember a thread which concluded it didn't.

    FENFAB Hotside Charge Pipe

Each of those single turbos is only putting out ~30 lbs/min of airflow- max. It's very doubtful they are that restrictive. FenFab does make a cold side pipe, and the OEM does neck down. That would likely be a better use of your money although I wouldn't bother with any of it without ugraded...

    FENFAB Hotside Charge Pipe

That would be the very opposite of bang-for-the-buck. Think about this fact for a moment- there are T3 frame turbochargers with compressor outputs that are a single 2.5" outlet which flow 80+ lbs/minute mass airflow. That means somewhere around 800 hp on gasoline. T4 frames will move 120+...

Att tech's misfire issue bank to bank

That's probably a good idea, but I don't think that a small boost leak prior to the throttle body would cause those types of bank-to-bank misfires.

Att tech's misfire issue bank to bank

The fact that a misfire causes the ECU to "lift" is completely normal. Where are the lambda values that you say are "correct"? Honestly, it's a tough thing to diagnose. I'd start with the injectors. If it were me, I'd first try running a bottle of techron through it to see if it makes any...

Att tech's misfire issue bank to bank

Misfire codes are generally going to be injector or spark related. You'd have to give a lot more info- mileage? fuel? tune? mods? Since it switches banks, it could also be the crank or cam sensors. O2 sensors are also a possibility, but once again, that bank switching problem makes it more...

    Ford Performance Tune

There are parameters in the ECU/TCU for torque management which will "slip" the trans or cut power when it reaches the threshold. I would imagine the limit is lower for the FP tune. There are a couple of other threads and scores of reports of this type of behavior under various circumstances.

    SCT X4 tuner / tune results !!

Anytime someone pulls out some "resume", and talk about how great they were, they lose credibility. The only thing people care about on this site is the value of one's posts. You asked others to stop bickering at one point and even asked moderators to shut down the thread. Now it seems it's...

For those thinking about a "performance" exhaust system

An intercooler and a tune will get you the best bang for the buck.

    SCT X4 tuner / tune results !!

Many of these same arguments were already made in the Ford Performance tune thread. There are two arguments- equally valid. One is that if you're going to tune, you should get the very best. The second is that one doesn't need the "very best" when price, warranty, existing equipment and...

Wider wheels and the factory air curtain…discuss.

Regardless of whatever very minor effects that block off has on aero effects because I don't think 3/10s lb of drag at 100mph to be significant. I look at things holistically. I looked at the PP2 upgrades. Is it possible that the added splitter, lowering, and wider wheels (and wheel spoke...

Wider wheels and the factory air curtain…discuss.

Just looking at that part it doesn't look like a block-off. It is just restricting the amount of flow more that the stock part? Does the wider wheel fitment include other changes like brakes, fender liners, etc. I don't know any particulars about Mustang variants. Does it include a recessed...

Wider wheels and the factory air curtain…discuss.

After looking at that video and the embedded link on the wind tunnel testing, I'm amazed the questions which weren't answered. I think he mentions these tests were at 100mph windspeed, but I'm not sure, since this would be relevant info. He seems to measure efficiency of cooling as being the...

    wheel hop

I get what you're trying to say, but "forcing the tires down to the ground" is not valid. There is the same amount of mass regardless of the spring rate. As far as "...the main cause is poor control of the suspension..." I completely agree, but you compare totally different vehicles as...

    wheel hop

You're lucky with the 2 bolt. However, that doesn't address the fact that there is enough deflection overall to give you wheel hop. And that's what you have to address. You might have the only "unicorn" two bolt 2022 in history.
  19. T

    wheel hop

I hate to tell you this, but... You are in for some big problems with a single-bolt rear diff. The source of wheel hop is deflection of bushings throughout the suspension due to the windup of the rear differential under torque. This causes the tires to gain traction, lose traction, etc. That...

What do you wish you knew when buying?

Of course, you could always just press the e-brake button to release. I park on an incline, so I always use the e-brake when I park. As part of my routine when entering the car I put on my seatbelt, put my foot on the brake, start the car, release the e-brake and push the ASS button. It just...
