    Dead Battery

Yes, it came up last week. Shut down the ST and tried a restart. Came up again and disappeared. I made it home (half hour drive) without problem. Shut down ST for hour. No more issues on restart.. I may have been using the auto shut off too much and not letting ST charge up enough while in...

    Soooooooo that was quick. Totaled...

Unbelievably nasty, especially with all the re-bar spears. Glad that you are okay and, by the looks of it, the ST helped to keep you safe. Looks so scary.

Did you purchase an extended warranty?

There are a number of warranties included from the engine and drive train to some of the electronics. However, they have different terms of inclusion of items number of months. ESP goes beyond the basic warranty and there are also ESP for different categories from certain electronics to tires...

Did you purchase an extended warranty?

Agree that Ford ESP worth it based on pastn experiences, firs with 93 Explorer, 2005 Explorer and then 2014 Explorer. All had issues from transmissions to electronics and ESP covered each issues without pain or extra expense. A review of what the cost of parts and labor would have been put me...

Auto Stop/Start Sucks. Who's with me??

1800 miles and really enjoying the ST the more I drive it. Yes, I even am used to the Auto stop and start and ind that it really helps mileage about 20 percent or better when in areas of long traffic lights and being inline at drive thru. Most fun is the power when accelerating onto the...

    Wireless charger frustration

I stopped using it because of frequently forgetting my phone when I leave the car and have to rush back to get it. Also my Samsung sometimes gets hot. Back to using USB cable to charge.

Auto Stop/Start Sucks. Who's with me??

I have gotten used to the auto stop jerkyness. If the a/c is running, it doesn't stay off for long. In sport mode, you have to engage it by pushing the "A" button. I use it in heavy traffic or in long drive thru lines. i haven't yet evaluated the mpg savings versus not using it.

How many people warm up their Explorer ST before driving?

I have heard that it is good to let the engine run for a half minute when starting up and before shutting down due to the turbos. Not sure of the accuracy of this idea bu do it anyway.

How many miles did your Explorer ST have when you bought it?

    28. Dealers here do not use a transporter when vehicles arrive at the docks. They are driven to the lot.

Like the jodie foster movie "contact"

t drive with dealer agent at least two other new ST Explorers and see if either has the same problem. If not, tell them you want to get one without the problem. I have 1600 miles and no problem as described. Sounds as if hing in drive train out of balance or possible automatic issue in lower...

What was your reaction the first time behind the wheel of a Explorer ST?

Loved it once I got my computer science degree to figure out all the features to operate it.. Long gone are the turn the key and go days but love the handling and power. So different and improved from my previous Explorers ('93 XLT, 2005 XLT, 2014 Sport).

    Explorer ST Bulb Chart

I am more bothered by the sealed headlight assembly that requires costly full replacement, not just the halogen bulb.

    Capless fuel tank issues?

I notice that it is a more snug fit with a tighter rubber ring that my older Explorer and Mustangs do not have. Maybe it is an EPA thing to prevent fumes from getting out as you fill the tank.

How do you dry your washed car?

Old school, still use a clean real deer skin chamois. After every wash or rain. Polishes seem to last longer than using micro-fiber towels which seem to be rougher, like terry towels, and remove some o the polish. I use micro fiber towels only on the rims.
