This is part of the many problems if you have Sync version 22251. You run out of memory and the system resets every time you start up. There are many settings that revert to default and the pop-up is one of those. It hasn't happened to me more than a couple of times but other things happen...

Same here! I got an ESP for 4 years last December and new tires this month so I should probably keep this thing.

So far so good. No 4wd fault messages and it drives normal. Besides replacing the sensor they cleared codes and topped off fluid. Here is the work they did in the attached document. Also, the TSB they applied is this one: 21-2270 Ford Technical Service Bulletin (tsbsearch.com)

Turns out mine may not have been broken either. I popped the side piece back in and it's stayed in place since yesterday.

My passenger side doesn't get nearly as much use so it's still not broken.

Mine was repaired today and it was replacement of half-shaft speed sensor. It was covered under powertrain warranty so there was no charge or deductible on ESP.

It has not been diagnosed or repaired yet. They have had my car since yesterday. I'll update as soon as it's repaired. Someone on the other ST forum had his AWD module replaced for the same type of malfunction.

I bet the people with new APIM will eventually have the same issues if they are using the same version of Sync 22251. I read somewhere that Ford won't allow dealers to install previous versions which are allegedly problem-free.

Yup this is one of many issues with this system for months now. Oddly, once a week or so lately I get a full map then next time it's back to bottom half of screen! The Sirius Travelink weather radar map also only shows bottom half of screen.

My dealer replaced my CV axles under powertrain free of charge a few months ago. Hopefully this will be the same.

They are really assholes for charging customers for the repair when it's their software update that broke the APIM! I won't take mine in until they update the software. I'm on 22251 and that's when all this started 3 months ago. I have ESP and have a $100 deductible but I shouldn't have to pay...
