Who's received a thumbs up from other drivers?

I live 15 minutes outside of D.C. and someone in my neighborhood I don't know saw me walking in a snow & ice storm for exercise and also didn't want to risk driving. He asked me, "hey ain't you the guy who drives a 4-wheel-drive Mustang?" I said Nope and kept walking. LOL

My tailgate is possessed. I need a priest.

So now a new malfunction: On several occasions when I touch the exterior rear driver side door handle to open or lock the doors the tailgate opens. This just happened when I parked and opened the rear door. It happened a few weeks ago when the car was covered with snow and ice so I thought that...

My tailgate is possessed. I need a priest.

Mine used to do this a lot but it is very intermittent. It may be my imagination but when it's super clean it is more sensitive. When it gets dirty and needs a wash, the sensor gets triggered less when I walk by. Could be a total coincidence. Also, my headlight switch would turn on by itself...

    3 Months in

I have had mine for over 15 months and 15,000 miles and still love the beast! And yes it is a flawed gem but there was nothing else in the Ford stable that really got my interest in 2019. I almost got a 2019 Nautilus and if I had I'd be pissed right now having the old interior from 2015 and...

Defects and a Missing Part on Our ST

Mine purchased in Dec. 2019 had a ding inside the passenger front door jam but didn't notice it until after a week or so. There was a barely noticeable swirl in the paint on the rear driver side door sill.

    Air filters

I'm also lazy and indecisive! So I reluctantly pay for things I could do myself.

    Air filters

I'm the ultimate tight wad! I don't do any mods on any of my vehicles. I never have. I just like to get the higher or highest trim with all available options and I am content with how it looks and performs in stock form. Cupholder Hero is the full extent of my mods on my ST. I'm still not...

Who turns around and admire their Explorer ST after parking it?

I love her warts and all! I think people who don't really like cars wouldn't turn around and admire their mode of transportation!

    Digital Dashboard

That is the Deep Snow/Mud Drive Mode screen. The large tachometer also appears on the right for the Sport Mode, Tow Mode and Trail Mode. Normal, Eco and Slippery Mode have the small tach on the left side of the screen.

21 ST Crank w No Start

This happened to my on my street going up a hill on my way to the gas station with 40 miles to empty. With 11,000 miles on the odo, I stalled out, it cranked and wouldn't restart. Tow truck brought 2.5 gallons of gas. Still wouldn't start after several attempts cranking it. I got towed to the...

What don't you like about your ST?

Three body related things I don't like about the Explorer ST: the hood scoop out area fills with rain water or snow when parked uphill. When dry it looks really cool but a bad design flaw. If you were to leave the car on an incline for a long period of time, you would have a birdbath on your...

    Phone Call Echo

I never use Android Auto and i get the echo from time to time. I'm on the lastest software update and it seems to happen less now if at all.

Radio not turning on when starting SUV with app

This used to happen to me a lot in the first few months of ownership but hasn't happened lately knock on wood! I've had the ST since December 2019.

    Exhaust Noise Issues

How many miles do you have? Mine at 13,000 miles started making a rattling and fluttering noise on cold idle and the cabin fills with exhaust fumes. I called the dealer and told them I would bring it in soon. Right now I'm grateful for auto engine stop so I don't smell fumes!

    2021 Explorer ST won't start

That is really early failure. My fuel pump failed at about 11,000 miles which was also way too early. I've never in my life replaced a fuel pump even on cars with over 100,000 miles.

    Rear Brake issues

How did you know? Was there noise from the rear brakes?

Name ONE ST Feature others might not know.....

I think it does both but gets confused sometimes. My 2013 used only the GPS for speed limit and it made a lot of mistakes and also I was too cheap to update the nav software. LOL

Name ONE ST Feature others might not know.....

The camera is reading certain signs wrong. But the other funny thing is when on a main road, it sometimes reads the lower speed limit of the parallel service road and adjusts.

Name ONE ST Feature others might not know.....

Mine used to do this on sunny days in the same location and all I could see were shadows from trees on the pavement. Also sometimes the reverse brake assist will think there's an obstacle when it actually pavement markers. Even funnier the speed sign recognition confuses a route 185 sign for...

Screen display showing 4 wheel traction...where did it go?

Mine reset today for some reason. All of the screens I had selected and the tachometer disappeared. I had to go into display settings to check the boxes I wanted to display and tach. Yet another "mind of its own thing" with this vehicle! This happened several months ago after it had been in the...
