10r60 transmission pan upgrade

Anyone swapped out the stock plastic pan for upgraded one, with drain?

So 10R80 and 10R60 share pan design? That would be a great option if true. More fluid is never a bad thing either.
Kevin did it on his. I’m planning on trying next month.

Mine was rebuilt a month ago and so far so good...

I installed a PPE trans pan about a year ago and it keeps the fluid temp around 165F-185F, with stop and go traffic it climbs to about 210F on a hot day but cruising on the highway at 60mph will bring it back down to 180ish, the only down side is during winter it takes forever to heat up, one really cold day it barely got over 95F

Can you tell us please, how the pan dropped the transmission temps when that is controlled by a thermostat?

The thermostat is for the heat exchanger that is “cooled” by the coolant, the pan is the sump where the fluid is held (besides the TQ converter) it only work with airflow over the fins so if you aren’t moving the fluid will continue to heat up, plastic is an insulator so if you drive till the temp raises then crawl under the car you can place your hand comfortably on the plastic pan and its usually mildly warm to the touch however with the PPE pan there is no touching it once the fluid heats up, think of a trans pan heater but in reverse

Yes I know but if you took the coolant system and added another radiator that isn’t controlled by a thermostat that the coolant has to go back into the temp will continue to decrease because the car can’t close a thermostat to conserve heat, if you drive hard yes the trans fluid temp till continue to raise but I’ve cruised on the highway for hours at 75mph at about 2000rpm and the trans temp never got above 165F, like I said I’m just posting the data I’ve gathered I’m a sample size of one

Maybe not in Arizona when it’s 110F outside after launching it a couple of time but in VA on a 50F day that’s the readings I got from 2 different sources, I’m not selling anything someone asked for information on something and what it’s like to own one of these and if they live in a climate like VA, 95F day in traffic trans temp will be around 210F but at 70mph at 2000rpm it will drop to 180ish, winter it hovers around 165F, these are the results from a year of reviewing this thing running it for a short time with an NPT probe on the side of the pan (which I’ve since removed) and a P3 gauge but like I said I’m a sample size of 1 and these are the results I’ve gotten it’s free information just reporting finding if someone wants to try it then they could see these results or see nothing at all or it messes up their car but this is has been my experiences

Mine isn’t the deep pan, it’s the regular one and maybe the platinum runs cooler than the ST but it’s what I’ve gotten
