Don’t typically complain publicly, but given the experience with this vehicle it’s hard to contain the frustration. We had the first ST for about 10 days before electrical challenges had it back at the dealer for quite a while. These challenges could not be diagnosed and resolved so the dealership made it right and replaced it with another identical ST. Hey, good for us right? Well actually no. Today after having the new new ST for 5 weeks while driving today it completely died. We lost braking, steering and every other function. Luckily we were on a local road with limited traffic and were able to glide to safe stop. There was zero electrical power so no flashers, no door unlocks, no access to the way back without seat gymnastics. We checked the battery terminal connections and all visible wiring. We then tried a jump pack which didn’t do anything. Ford Pass app says it’s still running. Ford roadside came and towed it off for diagnosis and hopeful fixing. I’m hesitant to let my wife drive it because I don’t trust the vehicle. Imagine if she was on the interstate or approaching a busy intersection and this happened. I’m a patient person, but 2 new vehicles both with significant electrical problems has me questioning Ford quality. Stay safe everyone.

I'm a Ford guy and I've been bashing them left and right for a little while now. It's BS like this that makes me continue my bashing of them. Ford is so in the toilet. Run away if you can!!

I'm surprised at all the issues the 2025 are having. I was expecting better. Looks like I will be driving my 2020 for a while.

Dang dude that's terrible! I constantly see people complaining about rattles, electrical, cosmetics, and missing/broken parts but your situation is crazy. My first 1500 miles I got a failed tail light, 6500 miles a bad rattle in the engine compartment and around the same time I'm starting to get clunks in the suspension. Not to mention last week a truck in the opposite lane threw some gravel into my windshield shattering it and busted my front 360 camera. Replaced the windshield Tuesday with OEM but the camera is on backorder and its cheaper to buy outright and install myself than claim it. So hopefully (knock on wood) I wont have any other serious issues. I'm trying to be positive, I really love my ST.

Thanks for the welcome. I’ve had many Fords over the decades. This is the first line with as many challenges that were show stoppers vs just annoying. We really enjoy the ST when it runs properly. It’s almost like the 2025 redesign elements were rushed through testing and quality control.

What you said about 2025 being rushed is what we early adopters were saying back in 2020! What a disgrace!

That's the part that makes me and a lot of others so angry. We expect, hope, and put faith in Ford that these high priced vehicles we invested our hard earned money into will be problem free. It should not be unrealistic to expect that but they have proven over and over and over again that we as the customers are the idiots for continuing to but their products. This forum has a very small number of participants relative to all Explorers sold. To read so many issues in such a small group tells you a lot. The actual scale of Ford vehicle issues is HUGE.

I've said this a few times and we will see when and if that time comes but I will be seriously looking to other automotive brands when it comes to my next new vehicle. I have been a life long Ford guy but I'm finally seeing the forest through the trees.

I've been a long time Tier-1 supplier to Ford at different companies and for many different Ford automotive commodities. I absolutely know 1st hand how suppliers are pushed to PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) by Ford to get parts into full production. All automotive OEM's push their suppliers hard to achieve PPAP but Ford takes the cake. They will punish their suppliers and put them through hell if anything is late no matter what. Sometimes they work with their suppliers to get things right like they should as a partner but other times, not so much. This all leads to haste makes waste.

One of the highest levels of escalation within Ford is for a supplier to be brought into "Hard Rocks" meetings - That is not a made up name, it's litterally the name of the meetings. During these meetings there may be 20 or so other suppliers all in the same meeting at once. Everyone attending the meeting(s) can hear everything being talked about. Ford goes from one supplier to the next and to hear these conversations and the belittling and pounding Ford doles out to the suppliers is mind blowing. People are getting their asses chewed out left and right and everyone hears everything. You just sit there and wait for you and your company to be called upon for your ass kicking turn.. . Here's the kicker - I've obviously been in my share of these meeting. I've had Ford dead to rights as being the ones that caused the issues that have put myself and my company in their bullseye. I had undeniable proof that they were at fault, but guess what, they still turn it around on the supplier(s) and I had NEVER heard them admit to being at fault for anything. Their arrogance is STUNNING!! Its examples like this that result in the problems we all deal with as buyers of Ford vehicles.
