Sorry new to the forum so not sure I’m posting in the right spot but I haven’t been able to find this sound anywhere on here or anywhere else. Anyone know what this sound is? It makes it every time I open up the driver side door after it has sat for a little bit. Thanks in advance.

That’s the fuel pump priming.

I don't get that sound on mine. I doubt it is a fuel pump because there is no reason opening a door would run the fuel pump.

Wow! Never heard mine make that kind of sound before.
Is the sound coming from under the hood?

All of my vehicles do that, just seems louder in the video then it actually is.

It’s pretty loud in person as well. The sound is just as loud as it is in the video. Maybe just a tiny bit more since it’s in the garage.

Does it sound like it could be coming from inside the cabin too? Any issues with HVAC not blowing correctly or blowing the correct temps?

Definitely somewhere under the hood AC and heat both work good.

Gotcha. I was leaning towards possibly an HVAC blend door actuator motor, being behind the dash could also make it sound like it's under the hood.

Are you able to reproduce the noise with the hood open?

It is the fuel pump priming. I don’t have the car now but I’ll get a video of it on mine soon.

I’m going to try and do that I’ll have to pop the hood and let it sit for a bit then have my wife open the door so I can record from the front with the hood open. I will post another video if I can get it to do that.

Fuel pump doesn’t prime when just opening a door.
You have to have the key on for it to prime.

It does both. Mostly when opening the door for me though.
