2020 Explorer ST w/ Street pack

Question: I am looking for a used 2020 ST and was wondering what the aftermarket cost would be to upgrade the brakes to be the same or better than buying a used ST with the Street pack factory installed.

On the used market, the price difference is probably negligible. You are much better off just trying to find one with the street pack. Even when new, it was a $1500 option but also included the 21" wheels. A no-brainer.

Thanks for the reply. My understanding is that the street package came with Larger Calipers (Front/Rear) and Vented Rotors, a $1000 option. They also offered the High-Performance Package with everything from the street pak but added Upgraded Brake Lining, which cost around $1500. The STs with the street pak are hard to find, and the ones with High-Performance Package are even harder.

The high performance pack pads are barely $250 at the dealer…no way they were ever worth the $500 upcharge on the build sheet.
If you wanna take a used ST with base brakes to beyond street pack level look at the SuperForged big brake kit for these cars. It’s probably in line with buying all the oem street pack parts and installing them yourself.

Welcome! Hopefully you find a good used one. I was going to say same thing Unbroken did and reference his build lol. Much better money spent in the long run. Save a few bucks on one that doesn't have the street pack. Get a deal and put some money into a real brake setup.
