I've been researching (and lurking) on this forum for a bit and I still have a few questions. Any help would be appreciated. (I put a deposit on a 2021 with 33K miles, should pick it up on Saturday.)

Does anyone tow a 4000+ lbs trailer with their ST and if so, how does it handle that weight?

Will the roof crossbars from normal explorers fit the ST roof rails?

Is the only difference between the ST High and ST Street the type of Brake Pads?

I'd like to get an extended warranty as we keep our vehicles for a long time. Flood and Granger cannot sell warranties in Florida. Are there any other good sources for an extended warranty in Florida?

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Joe

Welcomed an congrats, soon enough!

The towing capacity is over 5k lbs so you'd be fine depending on where you're driving. Trailer brake controllers, etc are always beneficial upgrades and there are a ton of threads on towing, setups etc.

If it's the same year the roof rails are the same. Just be careful of the limit on the roof if you've got the panoramic sunroof. It's super limited on how much weight you can carry up there.

Brake pads are only diff other than the calipers being colored. Can always change pads yourself without worrying about the 'street' ones too much. If it's just a dd that you street drive and tow occasionally you're going to be fine.

Extended warranty is a personal preference. I've personally never purchased them. I'm pretty mechanically inclined and once you tune the vehicle it's all a roll of the dice from there!
