Apparently, this has been happening since 2020. I have a 20 Platinum and started to complain after 2k miles on the car. Dealer had it for 4 weeks. Said they put ears on the chassis and could not find where the noise was originating from. Started the process of a buy back but was not approved. I test drove a 2021 Platinum, same noise. This noise is only on the AWD models and obviously coming from the sub chassis. Anyone had this issue fixed ??
My 2022 ST with 8k on it started rattling/knocking at lower speeds up to around 40mph. More noticeable over parking lots and uneven roads, sound came from front end. Just took it in today. They said both front sway bar links were bad and will be replaced.

Sure did! Back to normal and hasn’t the sound anymore.
Still good? Mine is making a knocking noise that sounds like the front sway bar/links. They don't seem to have any slop in them but ??

Hello to all. I have a band new 2025 ST with 2000K miles am new to this site. Have heard this same noise from the moment I drove off the lot. Very disappointed from what I am reading. I have had this same knocking sound coming from underneath the vehicle. Same story I have read numerous times above. My brother has a 2022 with the same sound and I stupidly assumed it was limited to his vehicle and bought a new one. I complained to my dealer who agreed to check it out. When they were done, I was told that this is a sound that all the explorers make and there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. I have a mechanic in the family who I am going to ask to take a look. Short of my family member being able to magically fix this issue, I am considering selling the vehicle. No way I am going to be able to live with this noise for the rest of my life. Have bought at lease 15 Ford trucks over the years, but this will be the last one. Unacceptable.

If you have the back window sunblocker screens, check that. That's what happened with mine. I just keep them up so they don't make noise.

Great to know that Ford has really spent the last 5+years studying the issues and really did their homework to try to resolve them and satisfy new customers--NOT!
