I just purchased a used 2022 Explorer ST and it did not come with a front license plate bracket. I purchased a bracket but not sure as to the proper placement of said bracket, and after all the research, if it's even the right bracket. The only place it seems to fit correctly the bottom of the bracket will interfere with the cruise sensor. With this being said, if anyone can give me an insight, pictures, videos, of the install or taking the bracket off and what the bracket looks like, I would greatly appreciate it. I do live in a state that requires a front license plate so I want it on so they have one less reason to try and stop me.

You are the exception around here. Most people are asking for paint matching plugs to fill the holes where the bracket once was.

funny tidbit
when we purchased our 23 in april
the adaptive cruise was really wonky as it it would let you get in the trunk of car in front of you before it would slow down, then it was rather abrupt
i listed it as uncomfortably close before it decided to take action

dealer checked out system and no faults, so they took it for a drive
the head service manager took it up to 70 and followed a car , it scared him as well, and he had the look of OMG i am going to wreck a customers car
so they put it up on the rack and checked alignment of radar, etc
what they found was, the dealer plastic plate trim ring they put on with their name etc was hanging down into the path of the upper part of the beam for the radar module
once they removed it, boom car worked 100% like its supposed to
i had not removed dealer advertising as of that time,

Did you purchase the OEM bracket? If so, where from? And how did you mount it?
Came from the factory with it on. Ford has a policy of including it on all vehicles shipped to dealers in states that require two plates. I am in a one plate state but bought it from a dealer just a few miles away across the state line so it came with the bracket. It is installed at the factory, not by the dealer. I could have removed it and added bumper plugs but I rather liked the ST plate I got from CJ Pony parts. I am sure you could buy the bracket from your Ford dealer. It really does fit well.
