All:

Does the 2025 Explorer still have the hands free tailgate release. I've been looking on the Ford website and the forum and don't see any information about them.

No mention of hands free in the owners manual.

Probably not. It was deleted in late 2022 and I wouldn’t see it coming back.

Thanks for the replies. Doesn't look like it has anymore. I did have another SUV that had it and your right it did have a tendency to false open when you didn't want it to.

My understanding is it's not available, nor is the parking assist. That from a Ford dealer doing an introduction of the car a couple months ago. He says the parling assist is permanently gone.

I've had parking assist in two vehicles. I've never used the function. Pride myself in my parking ability.
...roll progressive parents commercial.

I've never had a vehicle with it. I've parallel parked while towing. I think it's a cool sounding gimmick, but would never anticipate using it.

Parking assist to me was just always a “hey look at this” feature, never used it otherwise either.

Take it from me, who suffered many months with that hands free tailgate shutting on my f**king head while I was standing under it (I’m probably half an inch shorter now from all those hits lol) and not opening when I wanted it to, opening at random, etc…….you’re very very glad you didn’t get a handsfree tailgate.

Yeah the hands free system hit me a couple times while hooking up a trailer. Makes me feel dumb. I never used it anyway, I don’t mind it being taken away.

get one off a wrecked one at junk yard, I'm sure the wiring and mounting bracket are still there. That's what I'm going to do when my 25 finally get here maybe.

Dude I never understand this. It’s awesome on my 2020. Works 90% of the time or better. Just gotta know where to kick. I’m constantly carrying tons of shit (a true grocery getter), so I legit use it constantly

Looks like you got lucky because our 2020 it barely worked, and it sucked to try to use.

Yep knew where to kick. Ours was an A Build 2020 so it definitely had its quirks.

Roger that. Mines an A build also but generally got lucky. Lots of quirks and strange noises, but generally ok.

Ours has every single problem that was known, but once they were fixed it was ok. Still, with all those problems it was hard not to love it. I love these vehicles.
