Hi my wife and I went to test drive a 2025 st this weekend and enjoyed the vehicle. The one area we didn’t like was the digital cluster gauge display. I’ve been in earlier years explorer st’s and the dials looked much nicer then what we viewed. We tried the settings and couldn’t find any options besides the center of the screen info. Could anyone with a 2025 confirm that these are the only gauge layout available on this model. I’ll attach a pic of the 2025 cluster vs what I’ve seen in earlier years. Thank you

I don’t know since I don’t own a 25, but from the reviews I’ve seen it looks like it just changes some colors in the cluster, it doesn’t really change much like the older models.

For gauges yes that's it. The RPM and Speedo can not be changed and as for the middle there are only like eight choices and they are: 1. Calm - which I have not looked at except once so I don't remember it entirely what it does but it takes away some of the stuff. I guess "Calming" down the clutter. 2. Drivers assistance - Why this is an option I have no Idea as it's the one used mostly as it tells ya all the lane keeping info and directions etc.. 3. Map - this one is cool as it projects the map in the middle, but I never use it as I have the big display directly to my right and also #2 provides directions as well. 4. Fuel Economy - Tells ya how much gas your saving or not saving when pressing on the gas pedal. 5. Trip 1 - Resettable Trip meter. 6. Trip 2 - Also resettable Trip meter. 7. Off Road Tilt Gauges - These are cool as well but unless your going offroad and need the see the tilt and level of your vehicle you will probably never use them except for the fun of it. and finally 8. Temp Gauges - however these are temp Gauges only for Tranny and Coolant and they are just a bar gauge.

I would have liked to seen Battery Voltage (you know since they have a nice big infotainment center and promote how you can watch YouTube Etc. in the car) and also maybe an oil level, pressure or temperature gauge. However I guess they thought we did not need those things and instead needed offroad gauges on a car that is not supposed to really be taken offroad. Unless you have one of the other Trims and not the ST version. So Basically the gauges are just a big "idiot" light and you'll probably not know you have a problem until the car tells you that you have one.

Oh also NO, the gauges do not change colors or the look with the different drive modes. The Instrument cluster is one area I think they really dropped the ball for us 2025 owners. Not sure if it can be updated thru an over the air update or not, but I doubt it.

That’s what I wish the STs had were actual numbers for the info. My Raptor displays everything from IAT to oil pressure to vacuum/boost. There is like 20 different numbers I can see on two screens.

Thank you for the information everyone has provided. I had finally thought i'd found a vehicle that I would be happy with after looking for a replacement vehicle but I just can't imagine having to look at that ugly fixed tach. For the life of me I can't understand why there would be no options to change that but what do I know. I guess the search continues. Thank again

no gear indication to show actual gear,
stock only shows PRNDM
only way i have seen to indicate actual gear your in is in the M mode and use the paddles to shift, it displays a gear number
i provided a screen shot of all the drive modes from mud trails, snow, slippery through eco and tow haul to show the differences
tow haul give you the best "gauges" as it is, you get a temp and trans temp, although they are swing type and really are not very accurate in any way until they are in the red

i have said a dozen times we get screwed in the info provided to the driver.
i see in normal or eco being plain jane
but sport and tow haul should be VERY inclusive of data, I.E, eng temp, trans temp, boost and even oil pressure as those modes are the ones were drivers are most likley going to push the vehicle a bit more
towing especially
a boost is instant info on how hard the engine is working
an exhaust gauge would be superb, but hey i know its not going to happen
i set up an mxplus obd with android old phone to give me the info i desire for towing and sport mode..

Custom tunes can turn on a setting to show what gear you’re in. I do agree Ford engineers were idiots when they designed the instrument cluster, but at least Sport mode looks cool.

This is the biggest complaint I have with the user experience of the ST so far. Terrible gauge options and customization. I mean put a LCD screen there, make it freaking able to be customized, its one of the big pluses of a digital dash (well Ford missed that part of the memo). How the heck can a performance oriented turbo vehicle not have an option for boost , oil temp, trans temp, oil pressure in number format? I'd have also liked to see EGT even.

i stand corrected about gear NUMBER indicator
if your not in sport and press the M it will show the gear selected in the lower ip by the PRNDM thing
but in sport its in the BIG dial if your in M

Agreed. Ford nailed the instrument cluster on the S550 cars, why they decided to be dumb on these cars is so stupid.
