After software updates were applied, it seemed better for a little while. But, pretty quickly it was back to the same inconsistency of walk-away lock, and a real desensitization of the handle touch locking.
I reverted the changes in Forscan, and the handle locking immediately feels better. Weird.
So curious if this is a feature we could turn on. It’s more for the new 2025 Navigator with split tailgate so it’s “hands free” since there is no more kick to open. There’s a line in the APIM 7D0-09-03 that looks like it would add the option within the screen. But couldn’t find anything under the BCM that would need to be coded if needed to.
I played around a bit but couldn’t get it. I couldn’t get the automatic option to show up on the screen. I got the hands-free option to appear, but it wouldn’t show automatic (open on approach) slider. I need someone smarter than me lol.

The programing in the module most likely will need updated with job 2
Ota may resolve that in time
I don't have access to that info but will inquire.
Would be a nice feature to turn on
Also interesting find. That screenshot is from Ford Canadian. Which open on approach is available now. But if you go to regular Ford site for US it’s not an option or Platinum’s. Looks like Ford is only making it a factory option for Canada.
I did not try the As Built format but i think i found how to disable it with the simple enable/disable functions. I have a 25 ST with a build date of 9/24 and every option possible.
In forscan under the APIM module, scroll down to Propulsion Sound Setting. Disable that. I’m 90% sure mine is quieter in the cab. All modes sound the same now where sport mode was noticeably louder before.
