Good afternoon, everyone. Well, I’ve had my 25 Explorer ST going on just over 4 months. I’m currently in Minnesota visiting family & friends for the holidays. Discovered my front windshield had a crack start in the lower left hand corner from the driver’s point of view and by the next day it continued all the way across it. Now, my only hypothesis is that it was 19 degrees the night I’m assuming the crack started and continued on the next day/evening. No rock strike, warping or bulging had occurred. Now, I’m taking it into the local Ford dealership in Rochester to have them evaluate it for warranty coverage. Anyone else experience this? Plus, I also received notification on the ABS recall software update too. Thank you.

This type of thing typically originates from a small rock chip that could have happened whenever. Then when the temps drop, and the defroster goes on, the change in temperature on the windshield causes added stresses, and BAM you have a cracked windshield.... Its not something I would expect to be warrantied, and Id be happy for you, but surprised if they covered it.

I’ll keep you updated, since I’ll be going in on the 31st.
