Good morning all,
I have a 21 ST riding on Bridgestone Alenza AS Ultras with less that 3K miles, one is brand new. They seem terribly noisy going down the road, and my service dept finally determined they "believe" the howling noise I encounter at 72-75 mph my car has displayed since I purchased it used with 10K miles in Aug, is due to a bad or several bad tires. I'm looking to change to something else, stock size, but a whole lot les noisy. Has anyone else experienced anything similar with these tires and what brands would you guys recommend? I do get snow occasionally where I live but work from home so its not a huge deal.

thanks

I was going to post about these tires! I have had them on for about 500 miles now and they are terrible! Very loud and shop had a hard time balancing them. I actually went back to the shop and complained that I was getting shaking at around 60-65 mph. They balanced them again for free but it didn't help. I also notice a "thump, thump, thump" sound when they are cold. I don't know how well they are in the snow though. I had the Yokohama Geolander XC-V tires before these and they were great. They just don't come in the size I wanted.

Thanks for the reply. I was able to get the selling dealership to replace one under "warranty" and my "howl" lessened but has not been totally resolved. Here's what the servicing dealer did chasing the noise for three months. Finally after Ford engineers couldn't find anything, the service guys swapped another set of wheels and tires and said the noise went away.

I'm looking at either the Michelins, or a cheap option to see if in fact it is the tires, Arroyo Grand Sport A/S UHP All Season. It hurts a lot less if I spend this much and it doesn't fix it vs the Michelins...

My top Recommendation is the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4, followed by the Continental DWS 06 A/S. I’ve also heard really good things about the Pirelli Weatheractives.
