A 10.5 +40 with a 305 tire will be very close to contacting the strut up front. A 315 will absolutely make contact.

Ferrada is saying I would need to use a spacer. I don't know if I want to go that route since I havent seen anyone using that setup and dont want to be the lab rat to see if it works.

I like how concave that wheel is and the price seems to be cheaper than the other options out there by @ $700. Don't know if it's worth the risk.

I’ve been looking at the same wheel in 22x9 +38 as well as the M117 in 22x9.

@UNBROKEN any advice on the +38 with a 9” wide wheel?

it will be about the same as the stock wheel as far as fender position. Too far inward for my taste, hence why most get spacers for the stock wheels.

Start with picking a wheel width...then you can figure offset from there for how you want the wheel to fit the car...further in or out. For OD stay at 30.7” max.
I run a 30.4” tall 305/35 on a 22x10.5 at +30 offset. This is as far as you can push a wheel out and be flush with the fender...and it’s IMHO the perfect fit for these especially with a drop. View attachment 3977
Unbroken, I really appreciate your knowledgeable responses. Your wheel set up looks great. Have you noticed any impact to handling or other performance vs the stock set up? Also, could you please let me know what exact wheels those are?

Nothing but “pro’s”
Wider stance, more rubber on the road and 60ish lbs lighter than stock. There’s no downside….virtually everything was improved. Mine are BC Forged EH181
22x10.5 +30 offset.
it’s now on 315/35/22’s. 89DC8C3C-3949-45ED-A7EA-7AA92D53E27A.jpeg

I have some Pilot Super Sports waiting to be picked up, size 305/35/22. I thought about 315's but didn't want them to rub. How do you like the wider and bit taller tire? I may ask Discount to keep the 305's and get in the 315's.

I’m actually going back to 305/35’s. These are up to $2700+ a set…even I have my limits on stupidity.

I’m going with the EH176s (https://bcforged-na.com/monoblock/eh176/) 22x10.5. Thank you for the guidance. I saw similar wheels on this “covert” explorer (
) and I think they look great. The painted body moldings on this look very good too. I’m planning to do the same once my ST arrives in a few weeks. Also planning to add the Whipple Intercooler, Ford Performance tune, afe cold air intake and Corsa exhaust.

I am considering 22x9 with -35 offset and 285/45 R22's. Stock ride height. Has anyone tried this set up?

I have 22x9's with a 39mm offset and 285/40/22's. I chose that size because they are exactly 31" tall just like the stock 255/55/20's that came on my ST. 20220420_152445.jpg

That looks good. I'll probably go with that. I assume no rubbing?

nope, no rubbing at all. I also had 1.25 F and 1.5 R wheel spacers on it. look up my build thread, there are pics with how much poke I got with these wheels and spacers.

Geez folks…buy the right width and offset wheels and you won’t need any stupid spacers. You can lead a horse to water….
