22 x 11’s

Because a 22x11 with a 305 series tire doesn't fit up front. So unless you want to run a staggered setup, 10.5 is what you buy. Me and a couple others have mocked this up and unless you feel like trimming your fender liner, it rubs, at any offset, from +25 to +35.

Not to mention +25 would be well outside the fender up front.

No. 285/40-22 is as wide a tire as you can go on the 22x11 Ferradas. There are zero issues with 285s.

I will never understand running an 11” wheel just to be stuck with a 285 tire when you can run a 10.5 and fit a 315 with the right wheel offset.

The most common tire is a 305/35. 2nd is a 305/40. There’s only a few of us running 315/35’s which is maxed out as far as space goes. The wheel needs to be +30 offset for the 315…no other offset will work.
This is 315/35’s on 22x10.5 +30 with H&R springs.

I like the way they look (deep concave) and there has been no trade off with functionality. I ran 22x10.5s with 305s. I didn't find any advantage to running the 305s to the 285s as far as traction or handling, although it may have affected gas mileage a bit. I hated the lower profile tire look with 305s, as far as fender gap. The 285/40s fill the wheelwell better.

I bought 3 different sets of wheels and the Ferrada CM2s looked far and away the best to me. I get a ton of compliments on how they look and how my Explorer sits. It all boils down to personal preference.

I prefer a more rounded sidewall look to the more squared look of wider tires on skinnier wheel. In my opinion it makes it look less sporty and more SUVish. The good news is that either way it works.

If I decided to run 305's do I still use the +30 offset? Also I assume your ST is lowered by @2". I don't plan on lowering mine, does that do anything with clearance?

...newbee as well, would just adding spacers to the rears of factory set-up widen my stance enough within the fender to compliment the front profile??? it's the wife's car and is hesitant on letting me touch anything...hahaha

to expand upon that and be even more specific. if you want to run spacers, you can run up to 1.25" in the front and 1.5" in the rear on the stock ST Street Pack wheels without rubbing and the tire will be perfectly flush with the fender. In fact, doing this removes the 1/2" narrower track of the rear axles compared to the front and you end up with a perfectly square stance. this is how i ran mine before my forged 10.5x+30s arrived and I loved it.

Track width front and rear is identical. More negative camber in the rear is why the top of the tire is 1/4” further in.
