360 Camera disabled. Why? What’s the fix?

Just bought a 2024 Ford Explorer ST with 360 camera credit on sticker. Why? Is there a fix? What can be done to get it working? Thanks for your comments

Keep us informed what you find out.
When I take mine in for its first oil change, I’m going to ask them about this issue and see if they can at least activate the front camera.

From what I've heard, people's side view mirrors dont have cameras in them.
It's easy to check. Are they missing? You need to get new mirrors with cameras and do a lot of work.
Theyre not missing and you have all the cameras - is a module missing or it just needs turned on in software? Maybe.

Yeah I checked my mirrors and the only thing there is the puddle lights.
I was hoping since mine does have a camera in the grill that they could add the camera button on the dash and activate it.

When the chip shortage really hit Ford started to delete more and more features, 360 camera being one of them. You don’t have 360 camera only rear camera. It is not feasible to try to add it later because all of the non 360 camera parts are present including mirrors and modules which alone are extremely expensive. Unfortunately you’re stuck with just a rear camera.

The firmware fix was for the blue screen on 360 camera equipped vehicles. The 360 is deleted on these cars so that firmware fix is irrelevant.

Whole module is missing and when I checked on cars on the lot at our local ford dealer they had different mirrors.

It is not an issue it literally is a deleted item on the sticker.

You can’t activate the front camera because the modules and side cameras are not present.

Seems Ford is the only company that cannot manage to get the 360 camera working. BMW, Benz, Audi, etc. all have 360 cameras and hardly any issues. From what I saw, most of the parts used in the 360 camera are made in Germany.

I think the other part is likely a sly cover for how dissatisfied all of us are with the 10" vertical screen.
Generally all of us tolerate how utterly ridiculous it looks, but none of us can deal with the fact that some morons put the rear and 360 video outputs side-by-side, making each of the videos smaller than the backup video on the 8" screen.
... if you don't have a 360 camera, then the backup video is then at least tolerably smaller than on the 8" screen... and it saves Ford money, when the issues this model has are eating into profits.

I was just glad my 2020 had the 360 camera and it actually works. My mirrors have the cameras in them and when I had to get a Mirror replaced under warranty 2 months ago it was replaced with the same type, and it still worked when they were done with it. Though its a novelty item to me as I am old and still use my mirrors. I have used the auto park feature once and I didn't like not being in control so I don't use that either!

I contacted Ford and spoke with them about this safety problem with the cameras not working. They said that they would not be fixing the camera problems. I told them that that wasn’t what I was told when I bought this vehicle. I was told that as soon as Ford fixed the software issues that I could get the cameras all working, for the $500 credit they gave off the selling price of the vehicle. I’ve been ready to pay the $500 anytime to get this safety feature working. If I have an accident, because I can’t see with these cameras, Ford will be held accountable for everything.

Yes, they are. The title of the thread is misleading--the 360 camera system has not been DISABLED. It simply doesn't have the feature, even if parts may be present like the handsfree rear liftgate.
