400A vs 401A package... Confusion when building a 2022

It’s the 12 speaker b&o for the 400a. 14 speaker b&o for the 401a

There is literally a 400A 2021 brand new just delivered off the truck from factory on our lot... and it does not have B&O

That’s bs. When you build it on the ford website, it shows that 12 speaker is included on 400a. Feels like a bait and switch.
I’m going to contact ford. I’m sure nothing will come of it, but bs none the less.

100% agree... I just wanted to confirm that it actually does not have it. Door panels are black and not even the brushed silver.

It's the same when building an automatic GT mustang on the Ford website. Says it comes with 3.55 rear end when it actually comes with the 3.31 and the 3.55s are actually an upcharge. Unless you study a build sheet, you can easily be fooled and get one built with the 3.31 rear end.

There are always subnotes and fine print that they save their behinds with though... I'm sure causing an uproar might cause them to better build the website but doubt anything will come of it unfortunately.

When I ordered my 2022 I picked 401a for the larger touch screen and all the additional power options.

it lasted 1 day on the lot.. I sold and delivered it last night but here is a picture that I sent the customer and you can see on the drivers door. I also attached the window sticker a bunch of posts back.

Thanks! Definitely doesn’t look quite as nice, but oh well. I think they annoying thing (and basically the point of this thread) is that Ford didn’t make it clear the difference between the two packages.

Had I known, would it have changed my order? Idk. But it would have been nice to know. Especially when the build page indicated that 400a came with the 12 speaker system.

That got past me also! The website, at that time had the 12 speakers even though it only let you build out the 2021's. Some how I missed it combing through and toggling back and forth from the XLT to the ST looking over the options included with the ST...I COMPLETELY missed the Base option clause that states 6 speaker standard! I am a little bit pissed I missed that even though its my own fault.

I just looked up the VIN under Fords Vehicle Order Tracking site and it does list under the interior B&O under the options.

-B&O Sound System by Bang & Olufsen 12 Speakers Including Subwoofer

However, the window sticker has AM/FM/MP3 6 speakers listed. No entertainment is listed on my signed Order summary from back in September just 400a package. So, its being built with the 6 speaker budget base model explorer radio (infotain) while we are under the understanding it was coming with the 12 speaker B&O sound system. I specifically had a conversation with the dealer about this when deciding if we were going to roll the dice with the 401a package and 14 speaker B&O and all the other jazz.

400a 2022 with come with regular 6 speaker system.

attached is the ordering guide for 2022... 12 speaker is included in the 401A and then the premium tech adds 2 more speakers and only available on 401A.

400A does not get B&O System.

This is what is currently being advertised for the 400a. Don't expect any more speakers, don't even offer it with other options with that package

Under the tracking page with our VIN today. This is very similar to what used to be on the ford build site with the 21's before the recent change to 2022's. In retrospect, even though the website was not reflective of the changes for 22 at that moment, it should of been clearly defined across the board including the information provided by the sales staff when questions were asked. Once again, things still Do Not Jive with their online platform.

I just spoke with my salesman who confirmed it’s 6 speaker for MY22. Apparently the 400a package changed in MY22 to remove 12 speaker system.
He apologized profusely for having missed that when converting our order from MY21 to MY22.

It sucks but what am I going to do about it? Reject delivery? Reorder with the 401a? I think not. Been waiting for this car for 4 months.
