a question about the 2 yr Free trial Wi-Fi?

Maybe I'm missing something. I thought you received a 2 yr free trial on the mobile hot spot/wi-fi on the ST. I've looked into it on the app and it says 3 month free trial. Am I miss reading something? Anybody tried the trial mobile hot spot? Just askin. Thanks.

Actually Ford Pass is Free for as long as you own your vehicle.
But the Free WiFi is a 3 month trial...

I never thought I'd need in car wifi, but with kids with tablets it's almost necessary. I got a deal when I first got the vehicle for unlimited for $15 a month, was a no brainier.

Out of all our carriers in Canada, Bell Canada is the ONLY company that offers in car wifi data for the lovely amount of $75/month for 10GB.

Not sure what they're thinking as 10GB is nothing when kids are streaming movies on a road trip.

At $75 month, I just let me kids connect to my phone hotspot that has 40GB/month.

That is crazy. Here in the US, we only have AT&T for car wifi in this vehicle and it is USD15 per month for unlimited data. The USD15 is only if you pay for one year upfront. But it is still not bad considering it is unlimited data because even when I am driving alone, I am constantly streaming music from Apple Music.

i have the $20 / month unlimited data for now. It was free for the first 3 mos. it generally works OK , sometimes it slows down a lot. good luck with AT&T support. I cannot access my account because I request a password reset on the site and never get the reset link email (I do get other emails from them so it is not being blocked or spammed on my end). I spent a long time on the phone and multiple calls just for AT&T to open a support ticket. They allege to follow up within 48-72 BUSINESS hours. lesson learned - remember password...

Same I've had the $15/mo deal since the trial was up. With kids streaming stuff and using waze and spotify it's a no brainier. For $75 a month I'd tell the kids to suck it up though LOL

I wanted it mostly to watch live sports on the road through a portal app on my iphone called Carbridge.

Sadly, you have to jailbreak your phone but totally worth it for youtube (kids) & IPTV (live tv/sports). DRM are applied for apps such as Netflix, Disney+. The app itself works great on our lateral screens but even better with vertical screens IMO.

It's nice to watch the local news or even a big PPV event with others in the car on those road trips at night.

I experimented with Red Zone on a 2hr round trip one afternoon and check data before and after. It was about 4GB of data @ 60fps for those 2hrs. A full hockey game would range between 4.5-6GB

So to be a US customer on a yearly unlimited plan () and for someone that's ALWAYS on the road like myself would benefit me greatly, but for now just have to pick and choose which days to kill my data.

We have unlimited data through Verizon and can use our phone's hotspots if needed. Don't really see the need for the ST to have wi-fi also, except for eCall. At times data may be throttled by Verizon, but can't see that the ST wi-fi would be any faster.
