Adaptive cruise control

Good morning! Today is the first time I’ve driven my ST in the rain, and while I had the adaptive cruise control set (green steering wheel on dash) and it was working, it suddenly turned orange and stopped working, and it never would go back to normal. Any ideas why???

it was raining and the front camera couldn't see clearly is more than likely the cause.

If the cameras cannot see the pavement markings you will lose the lane centering for sure and likely part or all of the lane keeping assist. A curb will not generally work as a fog line, so your lane centering may work in the left lane but not the right if there is no white line on the right.

These guys hit it all. Happens to me all the time in bad weather. May lose it for a second and then once it can see the lines again it will reengage itself. I normally don't turn it on in bad weather just because i'd rather be more alert but it happens all the time driving into rain or even crapy roads were the markings aren't easy to see.

Don't even think about using it in snow...the sensors and cameras get covered up quickly and you'll get warning messages.

also, just in case OP isn't aware, the adaptive cruise is separate from the lane keep assist. the green steering wheel is the lane keep assist. you can turn it off with the tiny button on the tip of the turn signal stalk. i've had decent luck with keeping adaptive cruise running longer than lane keeping. you can use them both or together or separately. also, make sure that in your settings you set the cruise control to adaptive, not intelligent. intelligent will adjust your speed to match speed limit signs--however mine things highway signs in utah are speed limit signs and will drop my speed all the time.

Same thing happened to me in Nevada & Utah so I disabled it!

How do you disable it

It was in the user menu, go to settings and adaptive cruise control you will find it there. I don't remember the exact steps but it's not difficult.
