Probably the same reason a gas lawn mower is no longer legal in that wonderful state.
There are actually companies that will do 50 state legal testing, and certification. I’m just asking when

no tune needed for this intake right? why isn't this CARB legal yet?
the reality is we have 8 years in order to have to smog so I said F it and installed mine. either it will get CARB approval or ill be in another vehicle by then.

oh yeah I feel ya there man. its been a bit painful tbh. my connect for the AFE took 3 weeks to get it when we had our first set of storms. he didnt want to head up 80 due to the weather.

yeah, and considering this intake doesn't throw any codes or need a tune - it should pass CARB pretty easily IMHO

Tune isnt needed. Cali is very hard to pass CARB regulations.
