Hey guys. I just wanted to throw this out there. I was just over at aFe today and they were doing some tweaking to the CAI. It looks like things should be progressing shortly and hopefully going into production in the not to distant future. Also, I just want to let you know that the guys over at aFe like the ST platform seem pretty interested in working on the ST. So far aFe's exhaust team, intercooler team and most recently their suspension team have all taken a look and have scanned several parts. In speaking with the different teams, they're showing interest in the exhaust system, intercooler and charge pipes and the suspension team was checking out the sway bars. Needless to say, it doesn't mean that all of these things will definitely be happening, but personally I think it looks promising. I've been running their CAI for a few weeks now and have absolutely no complaints. I love the way it looks and I'm definitely not complaining about the slight increase in hp and tq (15/17). I'm very impressed with this company, their staff and products. I am in no way an employee of theirs or being paid for any of this. I'm an enthusiast like the rest of you and just wanted to throw out some potential products that may be coming down the pipeline. Also, I think the more interest generated with these things, the better chance that aFe will look to produce these products. It's impressive because they listen to what is going on in the industry and it seems like they want to develop cool things for our STs.

Thanks for the heads up. I’m definitely getting the intake…. I’m a fan of AFE products. Any sound clips ? Is there a difference at all on the sound being that it is enclosed?

Its honestly hard to tell with that stupid electronic engine noise being pumped in. If there is a sound difference,, I don't think it's too different. Let me see if they've got any from when they dynoed it. If not I can try and take a video to see if there's any sound difference but I don't think it's drastic enough.

Are you running a prototype Cai or has it been released yet?

Yes, it's their prototype. They should be going into production very soon.

How's that sound clip coming?

I apologize for not getting a clip up here. Unfortunately the prototype cracked when they were checking fittings I'm back to stock now. To be completely honest, there really is no sound difference because it's an enclosed system. The biggest issue that they told was the heat that gets generated under our hoods, so at the moment, they're not talking about doing an open element version because of all the hot air.

On another note, my Explorer is back in at aFe so they can mess around with an exhaust system for it. I'm excited to see what they come up with. Also...... their suspension department is currently working on a strut tower brace and if I'm not mistaken, front and rear sway bars.
