Am I the only one who hates the Adaptive Cruise?

Took my wife’s ‘21 ST on a road trip to Arkansas last weekend, and I did all the driving. The closest setting on Adaptive Cruise still slows down way too soon for me.

Any way to change the distances with Forscan? Used it on my previous truck (‘19 F150) so fairly familiar.

Absolutely worthless… the closest setting is about 3-4 car lengths too far back for my liking. I want to get up someone’s ass if they are going too slow in the fast lane.

Not gonna lie, my wife's 2017 Mercedes GLE350 is light years better with all the automated modes. Although I have found at times it slows a bit to soon but drives very smooth and handles traffic flow well. As far as the lane drift feature, I find the Explorer does it quite frequently even when I am not close to the line. Seems the Explorer's system is somewhat primitive compared to MB.

You have a gas pedal if you want to get closer. Works fine for me but I don't like to riide ass.

These systems are set to a minimum distance that they can avoid a collision. Ford isn't stupid, they make sure that the system provides enough room for a panic stop so you don't use it, rear end someone, and then everyone sues them.

You probably follow too closely if you want to be THAT much closer to the car ahead of you.

The best feature is being able to turn it off & not use it.

I’m a habitual cruise control guy. What I believe I’ve found with the ST is a significant improvement in gas mileage when I control the pedal. :(

I don’t ride folks ass - this thing slows down well before the “1 car length per 10mph” safe following distance. I am not anywhere near ready to change lanes and pass when it starts slowing down. A good friend’s F150 Platinum had it and it worked much better. Its basically unusable in my opinion, maybe the calibration on it is off.

I love ACC and Lane Centering however I will never use the intelligent cruise control.

If there's ever a time that someone in front won't move over then I'll just throttle it to get close until they do and go back to normal ACC once they get their head out of their ass. (which is rare because with the blackout front end and the amber DRLs on, everyone thinks I'm a police officer so most move over before the auto-braking even kicks in)

Otherwise it works great. Don't have much to compare it to besides the Toyota system which I prefer the Ford.

I would also assume a company like Mercedes-Benz should have better technologies and systems over a Ford product... not sure why we're comparing the two Manufacturers to be honest haha
