Question to all?
Has anyone noticed a rattle noise from engine on start? Engine starts, high idle then after a few seconds the rattle/knocking occurs for a moment? I’ve heard about “cam-phaser” No idea what that is but is this maybe the situation? Or should I just stop whining and let wife love her vehicle as she does. Happy wife, happy life.

Have you checked the oil?

Curious if the flex pipe issues from the previous cycle were finally fixed as well. That makes an annoying rattling sound as well during cold start up's.

Got our 25 Friday
The 4th Explorer ST we have owned
Vastly improved throttle response & trans shifting characteristics
Have recalibrated all of our previous models
Am a retired automotive engineer & I think "TUNING" sounds hokey
May not need to with the 25
Much better than our 22 before I recalibrated the engine & trans
Annoyed with the fact you do not get a printed owner's manual
Like the center stack changes

Havent seen a hard copy manual since my 21 F150 Powerboost.
Im old school in some aspects and while I ‘ know’ us men don’t like reading manuals, I don’t mind sitting in my recliner to see what I thought I knew.
You can dl a pdf format and at least I can read it at my desk. I’ll be damned if I had to print out all those pages at my expense for ink and paper. In reality, once you go through it, you’d prob never look at all.
The online in vehicle is not even accurate. All of them still tell you to set auto ota times and there isn’t a setting for it. It’s even on or off. I’m sure Ford did a lot of cut-n-paste.
So as it stands, I’ll print out pages that I may need but thats it.

Picked up my 25 ST on Sept 9th and 2 weeks later took it on a 14 day 3200 mile trip. Very impressed with the handling, power, noise level and gas mileage (avg'd 22.6-23.6 mag at 70-80 mph speeds). Quality and fit look good and no rattles so far!

Congrats on the New 25 ST you will love it. I have a 25 ST now, previously had a 22 ST bought new and a 23 ST bought new, 22 was totaled with 1200 Miles +-, 23 ST had tranny problems from a month after buying until I traded with 16,000 miles, ordered my 25 in Feb 24, delivered the end of August. I do love it so far tranny way better, smoother etc., love the pickup and go in normal mode, got 258 miles to go before I will put in Sport mode and drive it like I stole it (lol), with a break in of 1,000 miles. First is HR springs and roof rail removal, can't wait. Only problem I found which is apparent with the 25s Key fob, is no visual feedback, either green or red when you remote start, and no light flash when using the fob. And yes, I know the app does it, not the point my 22 and 23 did it and they are the same fobs. Also just got to get used to this new infotainment system, whew. I haven't even thought about the blue cruise yet (lol). Enjoy the ride. Btw there is a 25 + Explorer ST blog, FYI.
Congratulations on the new ST.

Congratulations! I agree, the old wheels are better.
These new wheels on the 25’s are ugly.

I just heard this today on my 25. Happened briefly for about a second or two. Vehicle has 800 miles on it but it reminded me of the cam phaser issue that some EBs have. Any update or does anyone think this is concerning?

(Copied and paste from my introduction in the introduction thread)

Howdy y'all. Kind of new to the forum. I've been lurking in the shadows for a while doing my research before I commit to a new Explorer. This would be my second one, I had a 22 coming from a 15 Hellcat and felt sick about the trade since then.(Used to the supercharger and the sound when I press the gas). Traded the Explorer for a 20 Trackhawk and was extremely happy. Well the Hawk got totaled by a distracted teen, she was texting and speeding, rear-ended me at approx 90mph. Got a check then bought a 22 Charger Hellcat. Well, got tired of hoodcats and scatty patties trying to race me and the constant paranoia of the Charger getting stolen I then made the decision and a non regrettable one to purchase this truck. Pretty satisfied with it!

However, I do have two main complaints. one, the infrared sensor that tracks your eyes while BlueCruise or adaptive cruise control is on is racists. The truck will scream at me to keep my eyes on the road until I open my eyes wider and its even worse when I wear sunglasses.......Totally joking about that y'all...The truck is not racists but, I do struggle with the sensor while wearing sunglasses. Do any of y'all with a 25 experience the same issue? My second issue is at around 1300 miles my rear driver side night time driving light went out. The indicators, hazards, reverse and brake lights all work but not the running light. Bummer right? Well Big Blue said the lamp is on back order till sometime November. Dang, and I was enjoying the truck. So I hadn't been doing any night driving for almost a month and will keep the truck dead lined until the parts come in.

Anyhoo, Thermal 3" on order, UPR can already installed, Black ovals at the ready, CVF Intercooler in the very near future, probably not gonna lower it but, will do a strut bar and most def roof rail delete. Too bad no tune available yet and for quite sometime. Not going to track the truck so no Big Brakes. I would like for this to be my last vehicle purchase but I said that about the last 10+ cars I've owned so its unlikely. Shoot, depending what the 27s look like and how big of an improvement they'll have I might trade in..who knows..

Also as of now with 2000mi on the truck I have no rattles anywhere. Gonna install the 3" Thermals soon. Any of yall have any taillight failures? Any place where I can find 25 model year taillight assemblies that's not on backorder?

We got our ordered 25 in August. 3000 miles and disappointed to the point of starting a Lemmon Law on it. Many electrical gremlins. Radio automatically turns on, drivers seat randomly moves to position one!! A/C turns on when activating the fan speed regardless of the ambient temperature. Headlights auto on (can not be disabled)!!! Auto updates turned on. Been to dealer 3 times with no luck, other then for them to say we will advise Ford of the issues. This is our 5th Ford. I could go on, but I figured for my first post I should take it easy. Cheers

That sucks. I've been through a Lemon law case on a vehicle with Ford and I won. It is not a quick process and you will need to go through an in-person Better Business Bureau (BBB) evaluation - sounds crazy but it is true. Ford will drag out the case as much as possible. At a minimun you need to have had (4) or more times with your vehicle in the dealer for the same issue without it being resolved, or, 30 or more days out of service at the dealer durring the 3-year/36K warranty period. A much easier process is to try to have Ford Mo Co buy it back - I had them buy one back in my past as well. I've been fortunate to have handed Ford their ass on a platter for putting out junk vehicles.

I know a little bit about the process. I REEEAAALLY don’t want to go down that road. But it’s getting to the point of rediculousness! I did not think about Ford buying it back. Interesting. I will keep that in mind. The dealer actually has been good during this, but at some point something has to be done.

The buyback process is completely through Ford Mo Co and will have nothing to do with going through your dealer. You will need to contact Ford customer service and tell them you want to start the process of a buyback.

Just took delivery of a '25. I had a '22 custom ordered and loved it slate blue, 401A tricked out. As always with a Ford, fit and finish is variable - the hood needed realignment (Chicago, go figure). Kid on a phone rear-ended my old one at 50+ mph - I drove away, other two vehicles destroyed. Ultimately it was totalled, but I was able to drive away because of the reinforced frame. Not a piece broke off the ST. I have some personal preference style issues with the 25, but I feel is much more comfortable in cockpit. Where I smashed my knee has been redesigned. Most importantly (I joke), the FENG is disabled by default! LOL! It's growing on me
