We have owned our '19 Expedition Stealth for almost 4 years, and trouble free at that. We no longer have any kids living at home and are seldom ever with us when going anywhere other than short drives. In the past we have owned 2 Explorers, an Edge and this is our 4th Expedition. We went from '98 Explorer, '00 Explorer, '04 Expedition, '07 Edge, '12 Expedition, '16 Expedition, to our '19 (all Expeditions were reg and not max).

Thinking of downsizing to a new '23 Explorer ST. Have some reservations regarding the room we will loose, but honestly we don't need the full size, and I drive a '21 F150 for the major hauling of things like snowmobiles, boat and cargo.

We love the Expedition, but the almost $20K price to have an equally equipped Expedition Stealth to an Explorer ST has got us thinking we should downsize.

Anyone else entertained these thoughts? Is everyone happy with their ST's?

So we had a 2008 Expedition for 12 years, and sold it in 2020 after purchasing out Raptor. When we needed a 3rd row, the debate was and Explorer ST org Expedition SPP. We pondered on it for a month, test driving both, and ultimately decided on the ST. Like you, we still had a large truck, so we wanted something that wasnt so large, and more zippy to say. The Explorer size is still very large, and we have had no room problems, you will not have to worry about room. Plus you save $20k plus and its easier to paek, looks sleaker, handles better, and gets better gas mileage. I say go for the ST.

I’ve never had an Expedition but just for reference I had 6 adults comfortably in the ST last night. Only 2 under 5’11” so there is plenty of room in the ST.
