Most likely due to the chip shortage, Ford is paying you to be patient while still being able to book revenue.

According to my salesman, 22 is not orderable yet (makes sense, cannot build a 22 on the Ford site yet). And is no longer able to order a 21. Says he was able to work out a deal with Ford for an extra $1k discount (on top of the current $1k order provision) to get us to wait it out.

how long were you told the wait will be? My issue is that who knows what my current 2017 Explorer Limited it will be worth trading wise a few months from now. So if I only get a couple thousand off now and trade-ins values go back down in a few months then I feel like I lose out.

Likely December. That’s when our current lease is up so hoping that is close.

my order just got picked up, last week of sept production

Chicago Assembly has been down since July 5th, plans are to resume production August 2nd if all goes well. Production will be 2021 balance out of orders in the system

Dealer told me he could order a '22 on Aug 2nd and that he "expected" the $1k order incentive and the $1.5k trade-in incentive to still be available.
I'm glad for the delay because it sort of forced me to take another look at used and now I've selected a CPO '20 that will be delivered on Monday
