My new ST has about 1200 miles on it. The auto stop has ceased working correctly. Sometimes it does not come on at all at a stop, other times when it does come it, it shuts off before I touch brake/accelerator. I kind of have mixed feelings about this. I know some here have paid real money to get the damn thing not to engage. And I am not a big fan of this feature either. Should I go back to the dealer or be happy I got a "fix" for free?

Auto Start Stop only works in very specific conditions. Depending on brake input, weather, and other tiny things, for me it rarely operates. I don’t like it, I don’t think it’s something you’ll need to worry about or miss.

I've got about the same mileage as you do on my 2025 ST and have noticed variability in how the auto stop works when I forget to manually disable it. If I ease on the brakes coming to a stop it doesn't seem to engage auto stop vs. a more vigorous braking episode. If mine stopped working completely tomorrow I'd be just fine with it. You've got plenty of warranty time to get it repaired.

I have a 2025 job1 ST and this feature was bothering me too. One thing I noticed, and maybe it is obvious to some, is that the stop/start feature turns off when I put it in Sport mode. The other modes leave it enabled by default.
