Push the button that turns it off when you start the car? I mean, doesn't it suck that you have to push the "start" button to turn the car on? Don't even get me started on the seatbelt!

Seriously, there is an autostart eliminator you can buy, it's about 100.00.

it does suck, the feature is dumb and from a stop slows my start , the difference btw an accident and not, lose or win, life or death

I installed the AutoStop Eliminator in my F150 and will do the same when my Explorer arrives. It's flawless, remembers the last setting, and is how the vehicle should have came from the factory.

Yep, +1 for muscle memory. The first month I had my Explorer I strongly considered spending the $100 for the AutoStop eliminator but it quickly became habit without even thinking to press the button to override it. I'd say save the money and install hassle and just commit yourself to a muscle memory habit.

I bought the eliminator, looks easy to install, no need to remember anything, Ford should've made it with a real on off switch, my ritual, brake start button, CCW check, belts, the mantra, "Atomic batteries to power, turbines to speed, ready to move on out" move into gear and go

Plus one on the AutoStop Eliminator. Really like mine. Easy to install and I mean easy for anyone to install. I did however have an issue with mine when SYNC automatically updated. My system reverted to the way it came from the factory. It required me to unplug the device for a few minutes and plug back in. No problems since.

Why not just support a small business and buy the AutoStop Eliminator?? Sure it’s easy to shut the feature off manually, but it’s even easier to have off permanently. People are spending lots on springs, exhaust kits, wheels, etc., so another $100 for a great product is a no-brainer.

I've seen videos about this auto start/stop. Yes, it's absolutely annoying and dangerous as I've found out. The F150 I drive for work put me in the lane I didn't want to be in. When it started, the power steering was delayed as I pulled out into traffic. So, I've seen one video that says to unplug the 2 wire plug on the negative battery post. I'm not sure what else this affects but it definitely stops the annoying feature. I guess if it can't sense battery voltage, It thinks it still needs to charge the battery.

So… I made a discovery. I happened to have some funky issues going on with my explorer. Ford took out my AutoStop Eliminator device and said that was the cause of my issue. Same issue happened again when I went home. Brought it back that night, they went through and did some updates. It reset everything I did with Forscan but I found an easter egg. My auto start stop stays off after I power the vehicle off without the AutoStop Eliminator plugged in. I am a bit shocked by it, but just wanted to give everyone a heads up on here. Vehicle also seems more punchy in normal mode, but they most likely reset any learning it had done previously.

No, what I am saying is ford had some type of update that saves the setting of the auto start stop feature. So I can power off the vehicle, and power it back on the the auto start stop feature is still disabled. Nothing with forscan or the eliminator device. It is pretty sweet.

just ordered 2022 ST. dealer has requested removal of stop start. we'll see

I don't know that the Dealer can actually request this. It's been said a couple of times on this forum that the elimination of this device is only an option on the 2.3 L engines. I don't know that for a fact but if it is the Dealer won't have a say. Having said that, at least there are other options.

Just installed mine today fantastic purchase super easy installation. ¼inch ratchet with 7mm socket and trim panel removal tools and you'll be done in 15 mins tops
