Dropped my 20 ST at the dealer today for the cat replacement (recall). Asked about the camera software recall. Service writer said its an all day deal, 6-8 hours. After software download all cameras have to have alignments checked, a tech has to drive it for an hour and a half to be sure the forward looking cameras are calibrated correctly. Has anybody had this same experience or explaination?

Sounds like bs. Unless yours stays blue, them driving around with their thumbs up their butts waiting to see if it happens is crazy.

My windshield replacement took slightly more than an hour (probably because I watched and peppered the guy with questions). That time included an over the road realignment of the cameras.

Sounds like the techs want to go for a joyride. The cameras can be tested in a parking lot and should take 5 minutes. The software update might take an hour or even two, but 6-8 hours sounds ridiculous.

This issue is so beyond stupid, even for the apparent, if not obvious, morons at multiple levels of Ford. As an example, prior to taking my truck into Joe Liars Myers Ford (joemyersford.com) for the previous camera recall, I had not a single issue with any camera, yet nearly immediately after the supposed camera "fix," my front and rear cameras were, and still are, now totally inoperative---absolute blue screens from both.

To add insult to injury, I received a recall notice yesterday (recall 23s23):

regarding this seemingly and apparent ever-ongoing camera issue, but when I attempted to access the information dealing with the same via both a web browser and the Ford Pass app, I get this, with absolutely no ability to advance past this screen: 1684462883852.png FWIW, and in case anyone may be wondering, yeah, I am starting to second-guess my first Ford purchase in a few decades.
